6 Easy Ways to Test Your Psychic Ability

Do you ever suspect that you may be psychic? Have you ever wondered if there’s a way to test your psychic ability? The beginning of August is a great time to find out. Not because the Universe’s energy is more supercharged or anything like that. Rather, it has to do with a couple of dates on the Weird Holidays & Observances page. What better way to observe International Psychic Week (the first full week of August) or Psychic Day (the first Sunday of August)?

Well, there are actually a lot of ways to observe Psychic Week and Psychic Day, of course. You could always visit a psychic, watch a TV show featuring some, or even take a class from one. However, if you’ve always wondered about your own psychic abilities but procrastinated testing them, why not do it now?

Maybe fear of other people’s opinions has held you back. You can test yourself without anyone else ever knowing. Or maybe you’re worried that it will be hard or complicated. Not with these six easy ways to test your psychic abilities. Let’s check them out.

1. Test Your Psychic Abilities with Pen and Paper

Why not spend every day of Psychic Week testing this great suggestion from liveabout.com. Well, technically, you could do this any week. Or even every day for a month or more. The key to strengthening any ability you might have is to use it. Because that saying, “Use it or lose it,” applies to psychic abilities too.

Anyway, what you do is pick a time every day to quiet your mind for a few minutes. Or even seconds. Just long enough to feel still and centered for a moment. Then use your third eye to “scan tomorrow.” Write down three things you see happening. The next day, see if they did!

2. Test Your Psychic Abilities with a Coin

This was one of the great suggestions from DaysoftheYear.com and it’s so simple. All you need is coin. Toss it and predict whether it will land on heads or tails. Keep track of the number of times you flipped and the number of times you predicted correctly.

3. Test Your Psychic Abilities with a Deck of Cards

Another great suggestion for testing your psychic ability from DaysoftheYear.com was using a deck of cards. There are multiple ways you can do this, all of which starts with placing the deck face down.

• You can predict the next color card you’ll turn over.
• Or maybe your third eye is more tuned into the suit of the card. In that case, you can test whether you predict the next card will be hearts, clubs, diamonds, or spades.
• You can also predict if it will be a number or a face card.
• If you get really good, you can test whether you can predict exactly which card it will be.

4. Test Your Psychic Abilities When Your Phone Rings

Maybe you can relate to this next anecdote. Back in the old days, when we only had landlines and no caller ID or anything, I used to freak my mom out by announcing who was calling before she answered. I wasn’t always right, but I was so often that she used to joke, “Too bad you can’t put that to use to pick winning scratch-off tickets.”

Funny story, I’m not sure we had a number-style lottery drawing in Colorado back then, but we did have scratch-off tickets. One time, after dinner with my mom and my sister, I insisted they stop at the gas station next to the restaurant and buy one…and they won $100. But that was the only time that ever happened.

Anyway, maybe even now, with our cells that tell us exactly who’s calling, you still may sometimes know who it is before you look. It’s a fun way to test your “knowing.”

5. Test Your Psychic Abilities with an Online Test

Psychic Science offers a few different tests, including Psi-Q Abilities, Extrasensory Perception (ESP), Psychokinesis (PK), and Precognition that you can use to test your psychic ability. You’ll find them under their “Tests” tab. And not that it’s a test, but they even have a Premonitions Registry where you can share and record your premonitions. (You’ll find it under their “Resources” tab.)

As far as the tests, in some cases, like with the PK and Precognition tests, you’ll find several tests and trainers on the page to experiment with.

The Advanced ESP Test uses computerized ESP Cards, or Zener Cards. You know, the classic cards with a circle, cross, squiggly lines, square, or star on them. Like the ones Bill Murray used in the scene in Ghostbusters.

You can test your prediction skills (without any shocks!) with this online test.

NOTE: Beware the “Start Quiz” ads, though. For instance, on the Advanced ESP Test, be sure to scroll all the way down the page. DO NOT get sucked in by the ads that look like “Start” buttons.

You’ll find the actual start button for the test in a dark green box in the section where you choose your Advanced ESP Test procedure (clairvoyance/telepathy, open deck/closed/deck, cards seen/cards unseen, and the number of cards).

I didn’t do that at first, and instead took a quiz that tested my vision. Which at first confused me because I was trying to figure out what that had to do with testing my psychic ability. Nothing, but at least I know my vision is 83% better than most people…and 100% better than I would’ve thought I’d score on something like that.

But most of the other Tests pages on Psychic Science had similar ads. So don’t get too much in a hurry (like I did) to take a test without making sure which button (and test) you’re actually taking.

6. Test Your Psychic Abilities with a Friend

If you have a trusted friend you’d like to test your psychic ability with, you could try suggestions 2 and 3 above with them.  You can even find a cheap deck of Zener cards on Amazon to practice in real life with.

Another idea would be to make your own Zener-like kind of cards and draw your own shapes on blank ones. You could draw on them ahead of time, either the classic shapes or whatever ones you want, or as you go. Blank cards come in a couple of styles, including plain white or colored.

And with the colored cards you could not only predict what was drawn on them, but also have your friend pull cards so that you can’t see them doing it. Then you’d have to predict which color card they pulled…and for more advanced difficulty, what was drawn on it.
