I’ve done the drawing for the Pre-Halloween Mega Goody Giveaway. Before I announce the winner, I’ll note something I said in the drawing video. (Yes, I did record it this time. It will be posted on HJ’s Facebook page if you’re interested in seeing it.)
CAN’T HAVE A GIVEAWAY WITHOUT TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES
It never fails. I always have some kind of hiccup to contend with when I do a giveaway. This one was no exception.
Two people wrote and said they were having trouble leaving a comment when they tried to enter. I told them to email me their entries and I’d be sure they went in the Party Pail. So instead of the 28 entries (as is reflected in the comment number on the post), there were a total of 32.
DID I PREDICT CORRECTLY?
Also, Spirit Halloween announced the top costumes for 2011. I predicted Angry Birds, anything super hero, and Harry Potter would be among the most popular costumes this year.
So how did I do? Harry Potter wasn’t on the list, but super heroes and Angry Birds was. Not bad.
HOW CLOSE WERE YOUR PREDICTIONS?
Below is the list of Spirit Halloween’s Top 10. I see many of the giveaway entrants also predicted pretty good.
To my surprise Lady Gaga still edged out Katy Perry, though. I thought she’d be on the list this year too, especially after reading so many of you predicting that.
•Green Lantern
•Captain America
•Thor
•Vampires
•Smurfs
•Charlie Sheen
•Monster High
•Angry Birds
•Lightning McQueen
•Lady Gaga
WINNER OF THE CONTEST
Winning the Pre-Halloween Mega Goody Giveaway wasn’t contingent on making an accurate prediction. You just had to make one.
It was Laura/LJR’s “Witches” prediction that won her the prize pack.
Congratulations, Laura!
And thanks to everyone who entered. Happy Halloween Season. (It’s on us now, isn’t it? YAY!)
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
