Design Toscano is one of my favorite catalogs. I was a fan of their creations long before I signed up for their affiliate program. (Which is my way of making a disclaimer that if you click through and buy from any of the below links, you are supporting this site. Which is very much appreciated, by the way.)
However, you can also appreciate their artistry without spending a dime. I thought it’d be fun for this first Semi-Wordless Wednesday in October to get in the Halloween swing of things by checking out the witches of Design Toscano.
They have some really great fun ones. From sexy and saucy to the stereotypical old cronies kind. The ones below are my faves, but they have even more.
So hop on your broom and let your inner witch come out and play!
The Poison Ivy Forest Witch: Greenman Wall Sculpture – I love how her vine fingers are kind of doing a Pulp Fiction kind of thing. (You know that scene where Uma Thurman and John Travolta are dancing and Uma’s character pulls her slightly separated fingers in front of her eyes as she shakes her groove thang?)
Windblown Wicked Witch Metal Weathervane: Roof Mount – This witch will tell you which way the wind blows.
Windblown Wicked Witch Metal Weathervane: Garden Stake – Our roof is so high, I think I’d really prefer this one though.
The Witching Hour Wall Sculpture I love the playful sexiness of this sculpture!
Sexy Temptress Coven Collection Statue: Jolly Jyoti – I don’t know why, but this naughty little witch also appeals to my inner siren.
Temptress Witch Holiday Ornament – Forget the tree, I’d find somewhere to hang her on display all year long. She’d be my reminder that well behaved women rarely make history. (One of my favorite mantras.)
Bewitching Witches Statue Collection: Book of Spells & Cauldron of Beauty – I LOVE the frog in the tub!!!
Witches Mystic Spell Book and Pen – What proper witch doesn’t have a spellbook? This is a blank book that comes with a magnetic pen that sticks to it so you’ll always have ink ready to jot down your thoughts and spells. (Perhaps spellbinding thoughts?)
Witch’s Cat Spell-Casting Wall Sculpture – Finally, a post about witches wouldn’t be complete without including a tip of the hat to the most well known of all their familiars. This cat has its own little witch hat and the writing on the plaque he sits atop reads: “Spell casting in progress.” Too cute!
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
