Last year I saw a Facebook event for a Santa Rampage here in Nashville. We had other plans the night of so we didn’t get to go. I was reminded of it a month or so back when we went to a University of Arizona Nashville Chapter alumni event at Arrington Vineyards. One of my fellow alums brought it up and suggested it might make for a fun alum event.
I joked I’d like to crash it. Meaning, I’d like to dress as an elf instead of a Santa and see what people would do.
Would they ban me from participating? I mean, I may have more the rotundness of a Santa, but I have the stature of an elf. Plus, that Santa beard looks itchy. Also, I’m not really into cross-dressing.
However, I came across some fun costumes when I was adding gift suggestions and holiday accessories from Spirit Halloween to the Featured Finds page. They had some great Santa costumes, as well as Mrs. Claus ones. Plus a slew of alternative get ups if I was so inclined to crash the Santa Rampage, yet still keep in the spirit of the season.

Elf Adult Costume (The elf one is still an idea, but I don’t know if I like it as much after discovering how many other types of holiday costumes there are. I mean, the first thing other crashers might think of is elf too. I don’t know if I want to go so obvious or show up as something totally unexpected, like a tree or reindeer.)
SANTA RAMPAGE CRASHER COSTUMES WITH A PARANORMAL TWIST
I, of course, like the paranormal aspect to the following two ideas. But the devious trickster in me also thinks it would be hilarious to crash a Santa Rampage and mess with a bunch of drunk Santas. Like jump out at them as they hop from bar to bar or something. (I can just see me lying in wait in an alley and getting arrested, though. That’d be my luck!)

SEXY ALTERNATIVE HOLIDAY/SANTA RAMPAGE CRASHER COSTUMES
I don’t have the bod to pull off any of the following. Or, let’s just say I don’t have the confidence in my bod to wear any of the following in public. But I must say, I am quite partial to the nutcracker one.

CRASHING AS A CHARACTER FROM A CHRISTMAS MOVIE
Spirit also had a slew of costumes from holiday movies, like the classic A Christmas Carol (which was truly a book before a movie –or should I say, before many movie interpretations), Nightmare Before Christmas, and one of my favorites, Elf. These would also make some unique Santa Rampage crashing ideas.
Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington Adult Costume
Nightmare Before Christmas Sally Adult Costume
(The above two would be a fun way to crash a Santa Rampage as a couple.)
Scrooge Nightshirt Adult Plus Costume (This could make another couple crasher costume idea, if you paired it with Marley’s ghost from above.)
Buddy the Elf Adult Costume
Have you ever gone to a Santa Rampage? If so, did you see any crashers? Have you ever thought of crashing? If not, do you want to? Would you crash or go as a Santa?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
You have found so many different costumes. I like the elf ones.
Thanks for taking a look at them all! I wanted to be an elf, but now…too many decisions! (One girl on HJ’s FB page said she was going to her Santanarchy as a penguin. I thought that was awesome!)
