I love, Love, LOVE when I fly and have a fun flight crew. It’s why I used to love Southwest. (Still do.) They always did (still do) something funny to lighten up the trip.
But in the past few years, I’ve noticed other airlines copying the model. Some flight attendants sing customized ditties, others take every opportunity to quip about this or that when on the intercom. It sure helps liven up (and tame) the atmosphere. More and more weary travelers are also cranky ones these days. It’s hard to stay sour when you get treated to a little out-of-the-ordinary sugar like some flight crews serve up, though.
I have never, however, had the pleasure to experience something like the Finnair flight crew in this video (below) did. This is awesome. So glad they filmed it so the rest of us can clap our hands, tap our toes, and maybe even sneak in a shimmy or two with them.
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
One would have expected somwthing like this from hot blooded Latinas, not from the sober Finns. Just goes to show, humans are full of surprises.
LMAO! What a HILARIOUS comment (& astute observation), Inka. Thanks for the comment!
How fun! I’d love to witness the flight attendants dancing in the aisles like that! 🙂
Hahahaha, I laughed throughout the video! Very creative of them =D
I adore creative crews as well. About 20 years ago, I flew Alitalia from Rome to Johannesburg and the male flight attendants sang opera. It was wonderful! This Finnair stunt was especially cool.
I love this too! After experiencing this you wouldn’t even be mad if the flight was delayed 🙂 Sure wish more airlines had a sense of humor and let their employees share it.
WOW! I’m so thankful for all the comments. I’m so glad others got tickled over this as much as I did. But I’m jealous some of you have experienced dancing -and singing (opera no less!)– flight crews. I will keep jaunting in the hopes one day I, too, shall have this delight!
