Saw the following press release on SBWire about a ghost hunting tour company in New York City offering events at the Met. Added their link to the Ghost Tours, Walks & Hunts page. Below are the details from their press release about their event and how to participate in one.
Pete and Stew Kandel (known as Dr. Pete and Dr. Stew) noted paranormal investigators and licensed NYC tour guides aka New York’s own “Ghost Doctors, say there is evidence of some paranormal activity going on within the halls of New York’s top art museum.
“We’ve been investigating the Met for some time and found some strange and unusual occurrences in different areas of this amazing museum,” says Dr. Pete.
The Met is home to over two million artifacts ranging from priceless paintings and sculptures to a variety of antiquities that have been around for untold centuries. And the Ghost Doctors say these artifacts can sometimes act as a ghostly magnet to some refined spirits which just happen to be hanging around.
“It’s a common thread among the paranormal community that certain objects can attract or even absorb ghostly energies, so it stands to reason the Met with it’s world class collection is the perfect place to hunt for art loving spirits,” says Dr. Stew.
The Ghost Doctors can be found leading groups of amateur ghost hunters through the different areas of this enormous museum. While toting a variety of electronic equipment through the various galleries, these hunters can be seen examining different artifacts and antiquities in their quest for spirits attached to the priceless objects.
“Besides learning the basics of ghost hunting, we always include the necessary back stories behind the different and varied works of art that can be found in the halls and galleries of this museum,” says Dr. Stew. “And one thing’s for sure, the Met definitely got an abundance of history to unfold and unravel which makes for one heck of a ghostly hunt.”

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
Aw, man. I wish we’d have known this before we visited.
LOL! Now you’ll know for next time! 😉
That sounds like fun. I’ll have to visit the Met the next time I go to New York. Like I needed an excuse.
