Happy Friday the 13th! Or do you suffer from friggatriskaidekaphobia which makes Friday the 13th not so happy for you?

If you’re among those who are afraid of Friday the 13th, maybe seeing some ways to have a little fun with, and on, Friday the 13th would help. Below are some suggestions.

GIVE TO A GOOD CAUSE

Scares That Care! is doing a Friday the 13th Online Donation Day today. Donations will go to three families that are in need.

Here’s how it works. For every $5.00 donated, a number will be assigned. The numbers will be assigned in numerical order. People can donate as often as they like during that 24 hour time frame. A donation of $5.00 equals one entry, while a donation of $50.00 would equal ten entries. Once the donation day ends, numbers will be drawn at random for the prizes.

Here’s a list of the prizes your donation could nab you:

  • Hand painted scene montage from “The Exorcist” – signed by Linda Blair
  • Signed Jack Nicholson “The Shining” Picture – 16×20
  • Mini “Jaws” Signed poster – Signed by Steven Spielberg, John Williams, Peter Benchley, Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss;
  • Arnold Schwarznegger Signed “Terminator” picture – 16×20
  • Signed “Twilight” Picture – Robert Pattison and Kristen Stewart
  • Signed copy of “Skyrim” XBox 360 Game – Signed by all of the developers.
  • Three pairs of VIP Passes to an upcoming “Days Of The Dead” Convention – (Indianapolis or Chicago)
  • XBox 360
  • Ipod 8GB Touch
  • Amazon Kindle

You can donate via Paypal using email  scares_that_care@yahoo.com.  Or you can call toll free 1-855-666-2275 and use your credit card. They also accept checks and money orders made payable to “Scares That Care!”

WATCH THE MOVIE NAMED FOR THE DAY

I really need to buy the Friday The 13th movie. (The original from 1980, not the crappy lame 2009 remake.) I’m always disappointed when it’s not on TV on a Friday the 13th night.

Although, nowadays thanks to things like Amazon Instant Video, I guess I can always watch it with just the click of a button on my computer.

JAUNT DEEPER INSIDE CAMP CRYSTAL LAKE

Friday the 13th movie and Jason fans would appreciate adding this book to their collection: Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday The 13th.

When “Friday the 13th” premiered in 1980, the film introduced moviegoers to a new kind of cinematic terror – shocking, visceral, graphic and relentless. Spawning ten popular sequels to date, the series has become the most successful horror franchise of all time, and the character of ‘Jason’ an icon known around the world as the first name in evil. Now, uncensored and in their own words, over 200 alumni of the series recall a quarter-century’s worth of behind-the-scenes stories – the struggles, feuds, foibles, controversies and calamities. Fully illustrated with nearly 600 never-before-seen photos, rare archival documents and production materials, this huge hardback volume is the ultimate oral and visual memoir of the series – a must-have for fans and cinema historians alike.

I love my Camp Crystal Lake Counselor and What would Jason Do shirts from Crazy Dog T-Shirts. But now they have a new one that I simply MUST add to my wardrobe: Summer 1980 Camp Crystal Lake Shirt.

A couple of other Friday the 13th-themed T-shirts Crazy Dog has that are also awesome are What would Jason do t shirt and Jasons Inn Tshirt.

THINK OF THINGS MISSING FROM FRIDAY THE 13TH

As I was putting together this post, I started thinking of silly things. Things missing from Friday the 13th memorabilia.

Such as, I don’t think they have near enough movies. They need more. Like Jason vs. Michael or Jason vs. Mothman. Even better, Bride of Jason.

And what about the jewelry market. It’s severely neglected. They have shirts but no hockey mask necklaces, rings, or earrings? What gives?

What about you? What kind of things do you think are missing from Friday the 13th? And how do you spend it? Do you do anything special?
