I’ve seen some buzz the past few days about Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes. Today I saw a link on Dread Central’s Facebook page with an exclusive clip to the movie.
The movie poster caught my eye. Specifically, the tagline caught my attention: “Bigfoot is hiding…but not from us.”
Piqued my interest. If Bigfoot is hiding, why? And if not from “us” (presumably man) then from who? (Or what?)
So I headed over to watch the exclusive clip that Dread Central had in search of more answers. If the clip is any indication of the movie, it’s laced with awful acting…or over-acting to be more precise.
However, the trailer sold a better story (with not as obvious bad acting).
SYNOPSIS OF BIGFOOT: THE LOST COAST TAPES
I copied this from IMDB:
After a “Bigfoot Hunter” claims to possess the body of a dead Sasquatch, a disgraced investigative journalist stakes his comeback — and the lives of his documentary film crew — on proving the find to be a hoax.
RELEASE DATE
Here’s some release date info from Dread Central’s article about Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes:
XLrator Media will release BIGFOOT: THE LOST COAST TAPES in theaters on October 19, 2012, in Los Angeles; October 26, 2012, in San Diego; and November 2, 2012, in San Francisco and Seattle. The film is directed by Corey Grant and stars Drew Rausch, Rich McDonald (HBO’s Generation Kill), Ashley Wood, Noah Weisberg, and Frank Ashmore.
Doesn’t look like it’ll be coming to a theater near me. Maybe that’s not such a bad thing. I might not pay to see this in theaters, but I might put it in my rental queue.
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
