Here’s an interesting opportunity for some of you Haunt Jaunters out there: a start-up company specializing in ghost tourism is looking for ghost tour beta testers.
This opportunity came to my attention because of a comment left on one of my postings about paranormal tourism. My interest was piqued and my curiosity prompted me to contact the poster.
Which I’m glad I did because she made me aware of a new company she’s launching. I’m sure it’ll be profiled more later, but for now I can write about how she needs beta testers to test her product.
WHAT YOU’LL BE BETA TESTING
It’s a self-guided tour package which will be going up for sale in southeast Wisconsin. From what I gather, it’s a collection of Haunt Jaunts you follow at your leisure. (See why I was intrigued?)
WHERE YOU’LL BE BETA TESTING
The southeast Wisconsin area.
WHEN BETA TESTERS ARE NEEDED
Between July 26 and August 8.
WHO TO CONTACT TO BECOME A BETA TESTER
Susan Scot Fry of the Caper Company susanscotfry@yahoo.com.
TALK ABOUT YOUR BETA TESTING EXPERIENCE
If you do this, I hope you’ll leave a comment and let me know how it went.
Or, better yet, if you’d like to guest blog about your experience, I’d love to have you do that too. Just drop me an email at admin@hauntjaunts.net or leave a comment here so I can get in touch with you about it.
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
Ooh, that sounds like fun!! Too far for me, alas.

Doesn't it though? If it was in my area I'd be all over it too!
I wouldn't be surprised if ghost-tourism starts rising everywhere. Historic B&Bs and Hotels are getting smart about encouraging these tourists in hard times. It's now finally popular to say a place is haunted rather than hiding it, although a few famous haunted hotels do try to downplay it and are ashamed. I'm glad the US is getting old enough to realize the value of haunted and historic sites like the UK does.
I've noticed that, too, AutumnForest (about B&Bs and hotels being more willing to claim they have ghosts.) That's why I was kind of surprised the lady at the lighthouse in Cape San Blas (the one who wa running it) vehemntly denied any ghost stories. Makes a place more intriguing. And she wouldn't have to lie…she could just say she's not sure. Like your theory about ghosts and people, maybe they are there but don't respond to her? Anyway, it's very interesting. We've definitely seen a spurt in ghost interest, simliar to the early 20th century and the Spiritualist movement. I'd love to go experience some of the places over in the UK though. That's like a dream Haunt Jaunt!
Hey! We've got our first beta test volunteer, thanks to Haunt Jaunts! Will keep you posted on how this goes. So exciting!
WOOOHOOO!! This is very exciting. Congrats and good luck. Looking forward to hearing about it!
Hi Courtney!
The beta test tour went exceptionally well. Selfishly, my favorite quote from the feedback form is “We had a blast!”.
As soon as the tour is ready to go, I’ll definitely give you a heads up. I am going to need beta testers on an ongoing basis, though. I expect to add a new tour to the website offering about every 2 weeks.
Thanks so much!

Hi Susan!
I’ve been thinking about you and wondering how everything’s coming. I wished I lived closer. For sure I would’ve volunteered to be a Beta Tester. Sounded like so much fun! Looking forward to when the site’s up and running!
