Friday Fun: The Bermuda Bigfoot Trail

Bermuda is most commonly associated with its location as the uppermost point and namesake of the Bermuda Triangle. When we were in Bermuda, we went to the National Museum of Bermuda where they had a comprehensive and fascinating exhibit all about Shipwreck Island.

DSC05562It’s a title well-earned. There really have been a lot of shipwrecks in this area. And, yes, also a few disappearances where not a trace of the boats was ever found again. It’s easy to see how the island got its reputation.

I plan to write more about Bermuda in posts to come, but for now I thought I’d have a little fun.

One of the things we did while we were in Bermuda was go to the Snorkel Beach Park. It was a free beach right near our cruise ship. Easy walk.

We went in April. The weather was pleasant enough. Sunny. Warm enough to sunbake on the beach. The water was a little chilly yet still, though. Which was a bummer. I was all ready to snorkel.

And of course the whole time I kept my eyes open for anything out of the ordinary. It’s what I do after all.

At night I’d watch for UFOs. During the day we explored historic sites in the hopes of finding ones where spirits were said to roam.

But it was after this jaunt to the beach park where I found something I wasn’t expecting: a trail of Bigfoot footprints!

Little Foot by Bigfoot

To give you an idea just how big these Bigfoot footprints were, I took the above shot with my foot next to one. Granted, I have small feet, but they’re not unnaturally small. Why they had a trail of such big feet prints, I don’t know.

But what great fodder it gave me! I made a little video of my Bigfoot trail discovery. In it I have Wayne put his size 13s up against a footprint too. The prints are so big they even make his big feet look small!

Hope you enjoy. Happy Friday!
