We’re excited to announce the addition of a new page under the Ghost Tours, Walks & Hunts section: Macabre and Unusual Tours.
This isn’t to be confused with our Haunted Places section. That’s where we compile sites that list haunted places, as well as track certain haunted places ourselves, like Haunted Hotels.
We decided to create the Haunted Places Tours page after gaining a new affiliate, Starline Tours. It was their Haunted Hollywood Tour that sort of started it.
It’s basically a ghost tour, yes, but it’s also a tour of creepy locations in Hollywood and Beverly Hills with macabre pasts. Totally dark tourism.
As we went to update our Ghost Tours, Walks & Hunts section, we decided to see if our other affiliates, Viator and Trusted Tours, had any new tours we should add while we were in update mode.
Guess what? They had some that were a little more than just your average ghost tour too.
Some were more site-specific tours, such as the Gribble House Paranormal Experience in Savannah and the Paranormal Investigations inside the Old Jail in St. Augustine.
Others were activity-specific, like the Bone Island Haunted Pub Crawl in Key West and the Haunted Chicago Segway Tour.
So…we decided to launch a new page. Some of the tours listed you’ll also find cross-referenced on their appropriate Ghost Tours page. (Whether it’s a U.S. tour and which affiliate offers it.)
Speaking of our affiliates, we have to remind you that should you purchase tour tickets on any of our affiliate’s sites after clicking through from ours, we earn a commission. Thanks! That’s in part how we cover site expenses.
However, we also like to note that we actively pursued affiliations with these companies because they offer products and services we have used ourselves, or will when we get a chance.
Take the Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Bath Day Trip from London for example. Haven’t ever jaunted to that part of the world…yet.
But when I do? I’d for sure book this tour from Viator!
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
