Escape Game Locations

Escape Game FunIn my post about our adventure to the Escape Game Nashville, I mentioned online escape games you can play. But I’d heard tell of other live-action versions in other cities and wondered about them. Where were they? Were they similar to the one in Nashville?

I searched them out and found several companies offering escape games all over the world. There’s even one where you’re trapped in a room with a zombie!

I made a list, starting with the one I knew of first and have played, followed by the rest I dug up. Here’s what I found:

The Nashville Escape Game

It’s the first of its kind in the South. Reservations are required, which you make online via their site: http://nashvilleescapegame.com/.

Room Escape Adventures

This one is an escape the room concept with a twist…you’re trapped in a room with a zombie!

“You have 60 minutes to escape the room. There is 1 hungry zombie chained to the wall. Every 5  minutes a buzzer sounds & the chain is released another foot from the wall!”

Room Escape Adventures operates in 24 cities, including internationally in London, UK; Madrid, Spain; and Toronto, Canada. U.S. cities include Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Cincinnati, OH; Cleveland, OH; Columbus, OH; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Detroit, MI; Honolulu, HI; Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Minneapolis, MN; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Phoenix, AZ; Pittsburgh, PA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; St. Louis, MO; Washington, D.C.

Reservations are also required. Pick your location, then schedule your game online via their site: http://roomescapeadventures.com/.

The Escape Hunt

This one claims to be “the world’s largest escape game brand franchise.” The key word here is “world.” They started in Bangkok and now have locations in 18 international cities, with plans to expand to 250 by the end of 2015. We’re talking everywhere from Amsterdam and Australia to France and Turkey and points even beyond those!

What makes them unique is after you’ve finished, they have lounges you can hang out with your group in afterward to discuss the game, have a drink, and pose for pics in their “special detective outfits.”

As with the others, reservations are required, which you make online after selecting your location. Visit their site at http://escapehunt.com/.

SCRAP

They started in Japan and claim to have “invented the world’s first live action game called, Real Escape Game™, or REG. The neat thing they do is offer REGs in “unique places such as multiple schools, ruined hospitals, amusement parks, stadiums, and churches…”

U.S. venues include San Francisco, CA; San Jose, CA; and New York, NY. And their “room” names are crazy appealing to me, like “Escape from the Werewolf Village (San Jose), Escape from the Cursed Forest (San Francisco), and Escape from the Mysterious Room (NYC).

Reservations are required and tickets can be obtained online from their site http://realescapegame.com/.

The Great Escape Room

This is like the other ones except it says it’s based on “popular computer and mobile phone escape games.” Its description explains how it’s part scavenger hunt, part puzzle game, and only 20% of groups complete the puzzle.

The Great Escape Room is based in two states so far: Florida (in three cities: Orlando, Miami, Tampa) and Michigan (Royal Oak). A third state, Washington, D.C. is coming soon, as are two more locations in their existing states (one in Jacksonville, FL and Grand Rapid, MI.)

Reservations are required. Tickets can be purchased online at their site http://thegreatescaperoom.com/.

Escape the Room | NYC

As the name suggests, this one is based strictly in New York City. They offer Downtown Games (Theater and Apartment) and Midtown Games (Office, Agency, Home).

Reservations are required. Tickets can be purchased online at their site http://static.escapetheroomnyc.com/index.html.
