First Review for “Shadow People and Cursed Objects”

Yesterday we shared on our Facebook page that we had gotten our first customer reviews of our anthology, Shadow People and Cursed Objects: 13 Tales of Terror Based on True Stories…or are they?. Two, and both were five-stars!

That was super exciting. Here’s what Courtney wrote on her personal Facebook page about it, which really sums up this journey:

It takes a lot of guts & moxie to be a writer. You spend days, weeks, months, sometimes even years creating something. When you finally present it to the world, it’s both exciting and terrifying: you want people to read it & love it as much as you have loved channeling your muse and breathing life and energy into the vision she’s planted in your heart. BUT… There’s always that nagging: “What if it’s no good and I’m deluding myself?”

Then comes the waiting for those first customer reviews. Brutal. Because there are more “what if” demons to contend with: “What if no one reads it?” “What if no one bothers to review it?” “What if it sucks and they’re polite and don’t review it?” “What if it sucks and they don’t hold back?”

Well today we went to check on something else, not expecting to see any more reviews, and suddenly our two reviews had grown to six! Three more five-star reviews, and one three-star.

Say what? This is very exciting. And very awesome because reviews matter so very much.

So if you left a review or are planning to once you’ve had time to read the anthology, this is why we thank you so very much. It lets us know what we’re doing right (or wrong), it lets others know if the book is worth their time and money, and if it is? Well, something as simple as a review adds up to so much more.
