Have you heard about Week in Weird’s Tin-Foil hat Challenge?

In a nutshell, it’s a contest…where you could win a piece of the Amityville Horror House. If you dare own such a thing…

Here’s the details from Week in Weird’s site:

From now until Sunday, August 21, we’re issuing the Tin Foil Challenge: a call for lovers of the paranormal and the unexplained to pose with their best foil helmets.

We’ll pick three winners who will each get a goodie bag full of awesome stuff like embroidered talismans, glow-in-the-dark UFO buttons, vinyl stickers, and more. The first-place winner will receive a couple extra special things – a glow-in-the-dark Planet Weird t-shirt and an actual piece of the Amityville Horror house pulled from the plank in the Traveling Museum of the Paranormal & Occult private collection!

Here’s what I wrote on Facebook when I learned of it:

Note in particular the “Oh, I’m SO doing this,” part.

With all the bad going on in the world, it’s always nice when someone throws out something fun to bring people together. (Especially for us paranormal peeps.)

I got the hashtag a little wrong on my sign, though. But I got it right on my Twitter entry. (It’s supposed to be tagged with #PlanetWeird.)

I do not envy Greg and Dana the job of judging. I’m not on Instagram but there a lot of great entries on Twitter and Facebook.

There’s also a couple more on Facebook that I couldn’t embed here because they’re not public posts, but one is a little black dachshund wearing the cutest tin foil hat with googly eyes on top of it.

The other is a guy sitting on a couch with a little boy on his left, a little girl on his right, and a pug in front of them. All with hats. And there’s a balloon comment coming form the little girl that reads, “This happens every time Uncle Jim baby sits aliens!” Funny stuff.

This is why I do not envy their job of judging.
