The Reeds came to my attention last week thanks to a post on Shock Till You Drop. As movies go, especially horror ones, it’s premise is not new: something bad happened somewhere, people died, their ghosts now haunt the place and terrorize all who dare trespass there.
But you know what? I kind of liked the trailer I saw. Both an official one on Shock Till You Drop. (I couldn’t embed it, but click here to go see it.) And also the unofficial one that I found on YouTube. (Below. It’s not as good as the one on Shock Till You Drop, but it was still interesting.)
I’m not sure when it’ll be released, but I’m sure we’ll hear about when it is.
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
That looks really cool. I’ve always wanted someone to do a ghost story in the reeds/marshes/swamps like that. We had a summer home near the dismal swamp and as a sensitive kid, I just sensed something not right about it at all. In fact, I’d cry if we drove by them at nighttime and my siblings would cling to the windows to see if there were “swamp lights.” (shivers)
Have I got a story for you then if you want to hear a good creepy swamp story! But I’ll write it as a post. It’s deliciously awful!!!! (Which is why this movie appealed to me. I like the creepy swamp angle myself.) Which…hey, you just reminded me of something else I can write about. Thanks! Autumnforest the muse has struck again!!
