We’re going to try something a little new and different that we’ve never tried on Haunt Jaunts before: collaborative list posts.
To get an idea what we mean, check out our very first one: #TerrifyingTravels: World’s Scariest Airports – Travel Bloggers Weigh In.
In a Nutshell
Basically, we want to work with others on themed posts.
“Others” meaning:
- Writers
- Readers
- Travelers
- Anyone in general who has a story to share that fits with whatever theme we’re doing
Like we did for our world’s scariest airports, we’ll gather as many different people as we can into one post. Their contribution may only be one sentence or a few paragraphs. Whatever it takes to share their experience.
The Themes
Here are some of the #TerrifyingTravels themes we have in mind:
- Hotels
- Roads
- Restaurants
- Cemeteries
- Books
- Movies
- Halloween
We might not do a “scariest” slant on all of them, but these are the sort of topics/experiences we’ll be featuring.
Wanna Participate?
If you think you might be interested in sharing a tale for one of our #TerrifyingTravels installments, be sure to sign up for our newsletter and subscribe to our blog. We’ll use both to announce calls for submissions, so if you’re signed up you’ll have a better chance of seeing them!
Or if you have any ideas that you’d like to see us cover, shout!
You can reach us via our Contact Us page.
We’ll also be reaching out to people we know to recruit submissions. So if we know you, don’t be surprised when we get in touch!
Next #TerrifyingTravels Topics
Speaking of calls for submissions, here’s what we’re looking for next:
- Eeriest Eateries – Have you ever eaten in a restaurant known to be haunted? Did you eat there on purpose knowing it was, hoping to have an experience? Or did you not know it was and discovered it was? (We’ve eaten at two places that we didn’t know were haunted at first until we had experiences, Harry’s Seafood and Nashville Pizza Company.)
- Prettiest Haunted Places – What’s the prettiest haunted place you’ve ever visited? It could be an entire city with a haunted history that’s full of charm and ambiance (like Savannah or New Orleans), or it can be a certain haunted place (like the Queen Mary or the Stanley Hotel). Whatever struck you as a pretty place with ghosts (or at least rumors of them; you don’t need to have personally experienced them), that’s what we want to hear about.
- Favorite Travel and/or Horror/Haunted Places YouTube Channels – Which YouTube channels do you subscribe to? We might do a couple of posts for this one, one geared towards YouTubers with fun travel channels, and another geared towards haunted places and/or horror.
Does any of this intrigue you? If so, reach out! Get in touch.
Looking forward to hearing from –and working with– you!
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
