6 Spooky Movies, Series and Documentaries To Watch in 2018

When I say “to watch” in the title of this post, I mean “to keep your eye on” or “anticipate.” There seems to be a lot of spooky-looking paranormal movies, documentaries and TV series coming to screens both big and small this year.

In fact, a couple of them are already out. So I guess we can literally “watch” those. I haven’t had the chance yet, but maybe I will get the opportunity this weekend. Maybe you’ve already seen them?

I guess it might help to tell you which ones they are first though, right?

I’ve got them listed in order of release or premier date. Well, as best as I can. Not all of them have set their dates yet.

Demon House – Amazon Prime Video, Released March 16, 2018

Castle Rock – Hulu, Premier Date Unknown (Likely mid-2018)

A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock. Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories. ~Hulu

  1. I’m watching “Tinker’s Shadow” right now.

How is it? Or was…since you’ve probably finished it by now.

  3. I thought it was boring. I didn’t finish it, but I do plan on going back to it in case it was just a mood I was in.

Well this is good to know. I still didn’t get a chance to watch it. Hoping to give it a go. Who knows…maybe you weren’t in a mood? There are only 2 reviews so far, both 5 stars. I’m thinking one is from someone who knows the filmmakers because it’s not a verified purchase. Which there’s nothing wrong with that. Shows they have good friends who have their backs! But to only have 2 reviews so far…sort of interesting. Or maybe people have meant to watch but haven’t yet either. Like me. LOL!

  5. I’m going to try to get back to it – I think it was just the mood I was in.

I’m interested in “Demon House” too.

BTW, whilst I have you here, I wanted to recommend the book “The Poltergeist Prince of London: The Remarkable True Story of the Battersea Poltergeist” by by Shirley Hitchings and James Clark. I could not put it down. It’s available as a kindle book and a softcover.

Oh Bast! THANK YOU for this book suggestion. Added it to my Goodreads list and to my Kindle! Love getting recommendations like this.

Also, I keep meaning to watch Demon House. Keep forgetting. Need to add it to my Amazon watch list if I can. (I think I have to pay for it? Not sure, but I will investigate at lunch today. Will definitely review that one when I watch it too.)
