A former fellow host from Paramania Radio (but still friend), Maggie Renea, shared a trailer for a movie she’s been shouting out on her show, Behind the Open Door, and on her Facebook page: Rosa Leigh.
The movie is a Creepy Attic Productions, in association with Ville TV, and was written and directed by Christopher Maggard.
Maggie is friends with Chris, who is often a guest on her show. (Maggie herself even appears in the movie, as Diner Customer 6. I can say I knew her when!)
Maggie’s always been awesome to me, and she’s passionate about spreading the word to help her friend. So I figured I’d show her some love by writing about Rosa Leigh for Movie Monday.
Other than it being paranormal-related, I don’t know a lot about the movie. However, I did find this synopsis on IMDB:
Sixty years ago an unimaginable tragedy struck the Ruth Lee Elementary School when a little girl named Rosa Leigh was killed along with her teacher and the school’s janitor. Now, four paranormal investigators seek to debunk the claims which surround the abandoned school. However, they inadvertently release the darkness which dwells within the school.
A first-look trailer was also recently released. I’ve included that below.
Wish we could hear the dialogue but my motto is “You get what you get and you don’t pitch a fit.”
Plus, it’s a “teaser” trailer right? It’s job is to tease. Mission accomplished. I’ll look forward to seeing more.
(Don’t know about you, but I’m totally digging the movie poster.)

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
Anybody know when this will be on the big screen?
I tried to find out but I don’t see anything listed yet. Fat lot of help I am, huh?
