Why You Should Check out “Oddity Files” on Amazon Prime Video

I had the pleasure of interviewing Kitsie Duncan from the Oddity Files when I had my radio show. She’s fabulous. She leads a paranormal investigation team who films their investigations and puts them on their YouTube channel.

However, you can now also watch Season 1 on Amazon Prime.

If you read the above and groaned: “Oh God. Another team who films their investigations? Just what we need. Why should I watch that?”

Great question!

First, let me tell you a little about their show, using their own description from their Amazon show page:

The Oddity Files crew is known for their unique investigation style, they are getting the evidence and telling the stories, the entities want told. Kitsie Duncan investigates with Clayton Abbott & Carter Jostes. As they investigate notoriously haunted locations all over the world, you’ll find out why they are the best ghost show you’ve never seen.

Now let me tell you why I enjoy them.

Mainly, because Kitsie is kick ass. Don’t get me wrong. Clayton and Carter are fun too. Kitsie appeals to me the most, though, because she’s a smart, strong, female lead investigator who doesn’t take shit from anyone.

Yet, she’s also empathetic and compassionate. It’s a sweet and salty combo that, IMO, I don’t see enough of in the paranormal world. Especially with investigators. It’s rare to see a woman in charge when other men are involved for one thing. Mostly women are relegated to supporting roles within an investigation team, unless it’s made up of all women.

But this combo –or trio, as is the case– totally works.

My favorite episode which exemplifies the team’s unity and Kitsie’s butt kicking-sass is not among the Amazon Prime offerings –yet.

It can be watched on their Season 4 YouTube videos, though. It’s the Outlaws and Lawmen Jail Museum episode.

Specifically the part where the ghosts get a little aggressive. Kitsie lets them know that is not acceptable and she won’t tolerate it –and they can’t help but respect her and snap into line.

So, yes. Oddity Files does what all the other ghost hunting shows are doing too. They investigate haunted places.

But not all of them have that “It Factor,” right? Many just look like Ghost Hunter or Ghost Adventures wannabes.

Oddity Files brings their own style to the ghost hunting mix. Both with Kitsie’s killer fashion sense and their investigative methods.

Check out an episode or two and let me know what you think.
