Ghost Stories (2017) Set for September 4th on DVD/Streaming
The independent horror film Ghost Stories (2017) debuted in theaters on April 20th in a very limited capacity. It faired well. With 1,269 ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a 67% audience score boasting a solid 3.6 out of 5 score. The critics were nicer, giving the movie an 82% fresh score. Initial reports claimed that the film would be available immediately after the April 20th showing; however, there were some glitches. Instead, the film will be released on DVD, BlueRay, and streaming services on September 4th. Look for it. It offers a lighter—more palatable—paranormal film as compared to Hereditary.
Ghost Stories centers around Professor Phillip Goodman, played by co-screenwriter Andy Nyman, as the host of Psychic Cheats, a reality television show that exposes paranormal frauds by debunking evidence. Professor Goodman is handedly a skeptic. Three unexplained paranormal cases land in this lap as Goodman is challenged to discredit them. He cannot.
Running 97 minutes and an NR (Not Rated) rating, the film may be a safe bet to satisfy your horror film craving yet want to sleep peacefully at night. Watch it and give me your feedback.
OMG I’m SO excited about this! I saw a lot of stories about this movie in the news, but it did just seem to be available in the UK. You answered a question I’d had about this. Super excited it’ll be available to stream here just in time for Halloween season! WHOOP!
Oh wait. Was this released in the US too? I’m so confused. All I know is it wasn’t in any theaters near me when it was out. Sorry for leaving two comments because I didn’t fully grasp your post for a few hours. LOL
You’re so funny! Yes, it was released in the US in a very limited capacity. None were near me either. It made around $100k in the US. Should do much better streaming.
