Lon Strickler is one of the most hard-working, dedicated paranormal bloggers and investigators I know. If you’re familiar with his popular site, Phantoms and Monsters, then you know too.
He recently brought it to my attention that he needs some help when he shared his Go Fund Me page with me.
You see, he’s fallen on hard times, because in a fairy tale-ish dark twist of fate, his step-mother has proved to be wicked and is kicking him out of his home –one that his great-grandfather built and which has been been in his family for over 100 years.
It was supposed to be bequeathed to him upon his father’s passing, but unbeknownst to Lon, the step-mother had her father change the will shortly after Lon and his son had moved into the grandmother’s house.
Which they did shortly after Lon’s wife, Vanessa, had passed away two and a half years ago. His dad needed help, Vanessa’s bills had eaten up most of Lon’s finances. It was meant to be a win-win.
Which it was. Lon’s disability covered the property taxes on the grandmother’s house, which freed up his dad’s cash a little at a time when money was tight for him.
Plus, Lon was there to help both his dad and his step-mom the last couple of years. But in an attempt to cover her own ass and make sure Lon’s dad didn’t cut her out and leave everything to Lon, she ended up orchestrating Lon to be cut out.
Now he’s been given notice the step-monster intends to sell the family homestead so… he finds himself having to cough up unexpected cash on a fixed income.
Which is why he’s set up a Go Fund Me asking for help.
Which, if you visit the page, you’ll see he apologizes for right away. No one would want to find themselves in such a situation and if he could’ve avoided it, he would’ve.
Anyway, if you can help, please do.

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
