The fate of Paranormal Lockdown had crossed my mind when I posted about Travel Channel’s new series, Portals to Hell. It stars Jack Osbourne and Katrina Weidman, which made me wonder if Katrina was now going to have two shows on Travel Channel. What about Nick Groff? I didn’t see any mention of him or Paranormal Lockdown.
I had planned to look into it, but to be honest, I was so busy trying to get my ducks in a row to make the Haunted Playthings call for submissions announcement that I forgot about it.
Until today when I received an intriguing email from my friend Bast:
I don’t know if you follow Nick Groff on Instagram but he posted a video heavily implying that “Paranormal Lockdown” is no more. He asked folks to share this, so here’s the URL: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt

I don’t follow Nick Groff or Paranormal Lockdown, but this certainly piqued my interest. I clicked the link and my heart fell as I watched Nick’s Instagram video. Here it is:

It certainly appears that Paranormal Lockdown is done. And that Nick has gotten the shaft once again, since he implies in the video that it wasn’t his choice to leave the other show he was once on, Ghost Adventures.
But this wasn’t the only news.
Ghosts Of Shepherdstown
According to an article I found about all of this on Higgypop, yes. Paranormal Lockdown has been cancelled.
However, thanks to the article, I also understood something else Nick talked about in his video: the Ghosts Of Shepherdstown.
That show hasn’t been cancelled, but he’s also not returning to it. Neither are his co-hosts, Bill Hartley and Elizabeth Saint. They’ve all been re-cast.
What the…?
What happened? Will we ever know?
Nick implies greed and money may have played a part in all of this. The Higgypop article named it as “television production politics.”
“It’s sad when politics get in the way of successful shows.” ~Nick Groff
Maybe one day the full story will come out. But Nick has shown major class and restraint not to say much about his departure from Ghost Adventures until now. (Especially if that wasn’t his choice.) There was so much speculation about why he left. In the end I think most fans just assumed it was so he could start his own show, Paranormal Lockdown,
They followed him there, but now that’s done. The good news, at least for Nick, it appears his fans are dedicated and passionate about following wherever his journey takes him next.
Next?
What is next for Nick? Not sure. But his Instagram video definitely hints that he’s got another project in the works.
Standing in a parka overlooking a sea of clouds, Nick ends his video: “To be honest, I wanna thank you. Because without you, what I’m about to do next would have never happened. Good luck.”
Hmm… Is that a clue of some sort? Where is Nick headed?
Not sure, but judging from all the Insta comments, his fans are sad to see Paranormal Lockdown go, but excited to support him in his next endeavor.
Wishing you the best of luck, Nick. Sounds like you’re turning adversity into opportunity. The best revenge is success. #GoGetEm

Update April 23, 2019.
See “Updates: Ghoulish Goodies, Oddity Files and Nick Groff” for info about VIDI Space, Nick’s new streaming service with content that includes documentaries, films and web series…”a space to indulge in everything strange, unique and interesting – a platform for the independent artist.”
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.

Sorry, Court – hit post too soon. According to the FAQ over at vidi.space: VIDI SPACE was founded by Elizabeth Saint (Ghosts of Shepherdstown), Nick Groff (Paranormal Lockdown, Ghost Adventures, and Ghosts of Shepherdstown), and Justin Narragon (Paranormal Lockdown) offering both subscription and a la carte options. Live premieres of new content are streamed each week during set announced times where you can chat with others during the showing at vidi.live. VIDI SPACE apps are also available for iOS, Android, Roku and Amazon Fire TV.
He’s also on “Nick Groff Tour Live” available on Amazon Prime.
LOL! No worries! Hitting send too soon is one of the scourges of our time, isn’t it? Do it myself all the time! So this is very interesting about the VIDI SPACE! I should’ve dug deeper to see if he’d announced the next thing. Instead, I just quick posted this info you sent. BUT…it’s all good. Just gives me another post! THX!!
Ha, you are so right. Not even sure HOW I managed to hit “Post”. LOL Anyway, no worries. Glad I could tell you a little something that might help a bit.
I really love that show. Sad that is not coming back. I wish Nick much success in his future endeavors and will still tune in to watch Ghosts of Shepardstown.
