I’ve posted yet another topic under HJ’s FB Discussions: “Do you feel haunted places in your area are underrated?

It was inspired by conversations I’ve had on Twitter with people like @Thor_2000, @JenBlaney, and most recently @BoyEatsGurl.

Thor was probably the first one to really start it. Ever since I’ve known him he talks about how he feels some haunted places get way too much coverage. That he’d like to see some new ones featured rather than the same old ones everyone seems to know about.

Then, most recently, Jen mentioned how she’ d like to see the Ghost Adventures guys pay a little more attention to her neck of the woods, Massachusetts, and Boy remarked to me that he felt many sites that list haunted places overlook central North Carolina.

That’s all it took to get me wondering how others might feel about this topic. If you have any thoughts feel free to share them in a comment below or over on the HJ FB page.

MY THOUGHTS

I have to admit, it seems to me some haunted places do get more attention than others. And it’s not that they necessarily have more activity, or better activity, or anything like that. I think they work the PR angle a little bit more than others.

But that’s just what I think. I’m more curious to hear your views.

  1. I know for a fact a few places in my area are not covered. One does not want to be known for its hauntings, while the other was never given a chance. No reason why the majority of places in Nashville are so forgotten

You’re the second person I’ve heard talk about a place in Nashville that doesn’t want to be known for it’s haunting. I wonder if you and the other person I know are talking about the same place. And of course that makes me INSANELY curious to know more about it!
