Over the July 4th weekend we finally had a chance to make it up to St. Louis to visit our good friends. We had a blast! St. Louis is a neat place. There’s tons to do, but we were limited on time. (We got in early Saturday afternoon and left late Monday morning.)
Speaking of our arrival into St. Louis, here’s a video we got while in the car crossing the Mississippi of stunt planes performing in front of the Gateway Arch. Too cool! (I apologize in advance. You can hear me singing a little bit.)
[Updated 4/18/17: Video had to be deleted.]
On Sunday we spent the day at Six Flags. Below are my favorite pictures from that excursion. (I’m a huge Scooby Doo fan, so I was pretty excited when we came across the Scooby part of the park, which I didn’t know was there.)
But of course I couldn’t go to St. Louis without making a haunt jaunt to the Lemp Mansion. I had wanted to eat there, but our friends have kids and their kids (well, one of them in particular) are picky eaters. One look at their menu and that idea was nixed. Maybe next time. (Or maybe next time I’ll get to stay there!)
However, as we were leaving on our way home on Monday, I forced Wayne and Murph to make a detour with me so I could at least get some pictures of it.
I would’ve asked to get pics of the inside, but they were closed for a private party. Still, at least I got to see the outside. (Not to mention try my hand at movie making. An experiment that, as you’ll see in a separate post, didn’t turn out so great…)
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
What a fun jaunt. I want that Mystery Machine…
Me too, Julie! I thought of you and your awesome Scooby Twitter profile pic. If I had seen Scooby I SO would have gotten some pics of him for you!
