Winchester Mystery House

If you have a history and paranormal loving woman in your life, what better way to honor her than with Mother’s Day Brunch at the Winchester Mystery House? Which, if you don’t live anywhere near there, might also include a trip to the great state of California. #Bonus.

Anyway, I learned about it from Dread Central’s article “Take Mom to Mother’s Day Brunch at the Most Haunted House in America.”

I jaunted on over to WinchesterMysteryHouse.com to verify. Sure enough, DC had their facts straight. Brunch and bottomless mimosas in the Winchester Mystery House’s Victorian Gardens. Following brunch you also get to explore the house on the 65-minute mansion tour.

Now that’s a Mother’s Day present in my book!

The Menu

What else is on the menu besides all you can drink mimosas?

  • Assorted breakfast breads. (Think indulgences like danish, filled croissants, scones, and nut breads.)
  • California fruit display. (The region’s seasonal finest. )
  • Baby potato medley hash with wild arugula.
  • Roasted asparagus, leek & goat cheese frittata.
  • Applewood smoked bacon.
  • Chicken apple breakfast sausage.
  • Waffle bar. (With all kinds of fun toppings like Bananas Foster, German Chocolate, Mixed Berry Compote, and of course the standards: butter, maple syrup and whipped cream.)

Tickets

Tickets for the brunch cost $99 for adults (plus a $3 service fee). Children 4-12 are $19 (plus the $3 service fee).

So, it’s not an inexpensive affair, but mom’s worth it, right?

But if brunch is too steep, or if the menu doesn’t appeal to you, you could always just get her tickets for a Mansion Tour. They run $39 for adults 13-64, and $20 for children 6-12.

They’ve also got the new “Explore More” tour add-on. It’s the first new tour added on in more than 20 years. It doesn’t include the regular mansion tour, but it does take you to areas that have never been open to the public before or that have been closed for decades.

Tickets for the Explore More Tour are the same price as the Mansion Tour. However, if you add a Mansion Tour with it, you save $29 on the Explore More Tour.
