I’m late getting the highlights for June’s Paracons & Horror Fests and Ghost Hunting Tours & Events out this month. Again. Story of my life. Apologies.
Although I don’t know how many people really pay attention to them anyway, so it really doesn’t matter in the scheme of things I guess.
Except, they matter to me, because I like tracking them. I’d love to go to so many of them, but neither time nor money allows.
So this is one way to satisfy that itch.
And that’s how I compiled this list of highlights. It’s the events I’d most like to attend or that I think are the most novel.
Ghost Hunting Events
June’s a busy one for ghost hunts. There were five on June 1st alone I would’ve liked to do, including the hunts at the Para Cafe in Winchester, Tennessee, and the Old Phelps Dodge Ghost Hunting Event in Ajo, Arizona.
June 8 and June 22 are the next busiest weekends. They’re both loaded with events. But squished in the middle is one not to be overlooked, especially for cryptid hunters.
Again, these aren’t all of the month’s events, just the ones that most caught my eye. To check out everything listed under June, head to the Ghost Tours & Ghost Hunting Events page.
- June 8, 2019: The Haunted Shanley Hotel Fundraiser Event with R.E.A.P. Investigations– Napanoch, NY
- June 8, 2019: Hinsdale Overnight Lockdown – Hinsdale, NY
- June 8, 2019: Night at Ashmore Estates with American Hauntings – Ashmore, IL
- June 15, 2019: Expedition Mothman – Point Pleasant, West Virginia
- June 19 & 20, 2019: Castlegate Ghost Tour to benefit One Great Day – Stockton-on-Tees, Teesside, UK (I’d like to go to this one partly because it’s in England, but also because it’s in a haunted shopping center.)
- June 22, 2019: Gallery Style Seance at Stimson Hospital – Eaton Rapids, MI
- June 22, 2019: Overnight Ghost Adventure at Sisters Tea House – Fenton, MO
- June 29, 2019: The Bellaire House Hosted by BSR Paranormal – Bellaire, OH
- June 29, 2019: Night at the Old Funeral Home with American Hauntings – Jacksonville, IL
Paracons & Horror Fests
If I’ve done my math correctly (call the Guinness Book of World Records if I have), May is the busiest month for paracons, but June is a close second if not a dead tie.
Just like with the Ghost Hunting Events, June 1 was a busy weekend for paracons. I would’ve loved to got to either the Fort Mifflin Paranormal Expo in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or the Haunted Road Media ParaCon at Mineral Springs in Alton, Illinois. Sadly, I had other plans on June 1 that prevented me.
And later in the month other travels will prevent me from attending events highlighted below. To see all of June’s para and horror events, visit the Paracons & Horror Fests page.
- June 7, 2019: 1st Annual Women’s Para-Retreat Weekend, a Thriller Event – Mansfield, OH
- June 7-9, 2019: CrimeCon – New Orleans, LA
- June 7-9, 2019: Scare-A-Con New England – Framingham, MA
- June 14-16, 2019: Preston Castle Paracon – Ione, CA
- June 15, 2019: 2019 Fouke Monster Festival – Fouke, AR
- June 15, 2019: Paranormal Extravaganza – Bordentown, NJ
- June 21-23, 2019: Alien Con – Pasadena, CA
- June 21-22, 2019: Haunted America Conference – Alton, IL
- June 21-July 5, 2019: Summer Hauntings – Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK (I’m going to have to write a post about this amazing event. Again, partly I want to go because it’s in England, but they are doing some really cool things over a two week span.)
- June 28-30, 2019: MidSouth Paracon – Shepherdsville, KY
Check-In
Are you going to any cons or events this month? (Para, horror, ghost hunting or otherwise?) If so, which ones?
If not, do any of the ones I listed appeal to you too?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
