“What’s old is new again.” That’s a saying that applies to both fashion and entertainment. But for this post, we’re talking specifically about entertainment.
Earlier this year I reported that former Ghost Hunters alums, Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, and Steve Tango will return to paranormal prime time with a new Travel Channel show, Ghost Nation.
Well, fifteen years after introducing the world to the field of authentic paranormal investigation, Ghost Hunters returns to television on Wednesday, August 21 at 9pm ET/PT. But this time to the A&E Network, which has greenlit the series for 20 episodes.
But maybe even the bigger news is that the series that captivated and terrified fans for 11 seasons will follow one of the original team leaders, Grant Wilson.
Grant’s Back
Fans of Ghost Hunters know that Grant left the original show amidst some controversy. (Though not necessarily because of it.) Was he involved in faked footage?
Just like whether or not ghosts really exist, we may never know.
Either way, has enough time passed to shake off the stigma that may have been haunting his reputation?
We’ll see if people tune in. (Check-In and let me know if you’ll be one of them.)
Sexy New Cast
Grant handpicked a group of professional ghost hunters to join him. The new crew working alongside him includes paranormal investigators:
They’ll use their decades of field experience to investigate hauntings across the country.
The new squad will engage forensic experts, historical records and the most innovative technology available to help everyday people who are struggling with unexplained supernatural phenomena.
The team is committed to discovering the truth to give relief to those plagued by paranormal activity. They’ll follow the evidence wherever it may lead.
The Trailer
Here’s a clip to whet your whistle. (Or make your eyes roll, depending on which camp you’re in: excited about this news, or not. Again, Check-In and let me know!)
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
Great news! And I never thought Grant was involved in shady footage. I just figured he had to focus on personal issues.
Haha I just sent you this news!
LOL #GreatMinds. Except…where did you send it? I never got anything from you. I don’t want to be missing emails!
