Sexy Halloween Costumes That are Borderline Pervy

This is the costume I saw that sparked the idea for this post:

It’s called Addams Family Secret Wishes Wednesday Addams costume.

I don’t know about you, but when I think of Wednesday Addams I think of something more along the lines of this:

A sweet, adorable little Gothic Wednesday Addams costume. Not Wednesday all grown up and sexed out. And really? “Secret wishes?” What’s up with that kind of name for a costume? Eeesh, very borderline pervy!

But wait, that’s not the only one I’ve seen this Halloween. There’s a couple of Alice in Wonderland costumes that are pretty sexy:

  1. Alice in Wonderland Child/Teen costume

  1. California Costumes Women’s Alice in Wonderland costume (It says “women’s” in it’s description, but the model is clearly a teen.)

Compared to something like the Disguise Costume Women’s Alice costume (pictured below), the above two Alice costumes sure do strike me as borderline pervy. (Something from a pedophile’s fantasy perhaps? Gives me shivers, because I’m wondering who the heck designs these things?)

Then there’s another fiction heroine who’s got a sexy get up for Halloween this year: Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.

Compare the above to the Wizard of Oz Dorothy costume below:

Exhibit A is a far cry from the wholesome Judy Garland-inspired Dorothy most people associate with the costume presented in Exhibit B, that’s for sure! I have a feeling that first Dorothy would have mighty different adventures on the Yellow Brick Road with the Scarecrow, Lion, and Tinman. Ones Toto might have to hide in his basket from!

But the costumes I’ve found most disturbing so far this Halloween are these two:

  1. The Not Guilty Teen Convict Costume

2. Correction Department Bad Girl Teen Costume

Pardon my French, but WTF? If I had a daughter who wanted to wear either of these before she was 18 and legal, I’d lock her up myself and throw away the key!

But maybe it’s just my age catching up to me. What do you think? Do any of the above strike you as borderline pervy?

  1. I have to laugh. It’s the one day a year the “good” girls can be “bad” girls and not be considered total sluts. Imagine wearing those the rest of the year? Hee hee I polled my friends one time and not a one of them was willing to be an ugly witch with a wart. Yeah, no dates at that party… I do sexy, but always a sexy adaptation of something spooky so I’m kind of wicked.

  2. I have been meaning to do a blog on this. Every Halloween store around here has mostly “sexy costumes” for grown women so your choices for Halloween costumes as a woman is either ther overweight nun or the sexy nurse or whatever else. This is my absolute biggest Halloween pet peeve. Do they really think all women who dress up want their butts hanging out or their daughter’s butts hanging out?

I know it’s fun to dress sexy…but there’s different kinds of sexy. I share Jessica’s frustration because I think a lot of the “sexy” Halloween costumes are stripper sexy/too revealing. I’m all about being the other kind of sexy…without being too suggestive. Kind of sounds like that’s what you try to go for Autumnforest.

  4. These things have there place in the ADULT Halloween party realm, but the costumes I’ve been seeing the last few years are god awful! The worst part is that is if there was no demand, there would be no supply! Parents are actually letting there children leave the house in these get ups! Same thing with everyday cloths tho. When I go shopping for little girl clothes for my daughter I am always amazed at what they have for little girls. Daisy Dukes, Mini Skirts, fishnet stockings,

Go to the mall and walk around on a weekend. You’ll see little girls out shopping with their mothers, and showing more skin then their mothers too! I call them Prostatots!

    EEK

“Prostatots” BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I busted up when I read that!

You are right…no supply without demand, and there is no shortage of demand. Wow. I’d be so sad if I went clothes shopping with my daughter (that I don’t have, but if I did have one) and saw that kind of merchandise. I think I’d learn how to sew…
