The captions are in. The likes have been tallied. I’m psyched to announce the winners of the August 2019 Caption It Contest!
Thank you to everyone who submitted captions, and those who took the time to like them.
Facebook Winner
Jamie Rana Card with the caption: “Skeleton 1: “Hey, you wanna go to ihop after this?” Skeleton 2: “ENOUGH WITH THE LEG JOKES” Skeleton 1: “But we skipped breakfast” Skeleton 2: “SERIOUSLY?”
But Jamie also had a couple other funny ones, so no matter what she was going to be awarded a prize pick!
Facebook Honorable Mention
Jim Tackitt went above and beyond to create a meme for his Caption It submission. He’s going to win a HM prize too. Here’s what he created:
Instagram Winner
@stephencassie with “I think i broke my ass on this slip and slide.”
Post Winner(s)
Okay, you know I can’t host a contest without at least one glitch. This time it was with the likes on posts. One second it was there, the next…pfft!
But I didn’t realize it until I went to see if anyone else besides me had liked any of the comments. (That’s how I know it was working at some point. I had used the likes.)
However, at some point something went wonky behind the scenes and shut that function down. (I think it must’ve been during a plugin update.) I’ve since restored it, but…
That forces me to pick a winner.
{Insert Groan Here}
Not because I hate it, but because I’m indecisive and torn between two.
So congrats to both Ray and Johnny. That way I don’t have to agonize over which of theirs to pick!
Thank You & Stay Tuned
LOVED seeing all the captions on all the different social media. WHOOP! Good job, people!
I’ll post the September 2019 Caption It soon. (Hopefully sometime this week.) So keep an eye out…
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
Haha! All of them were so funny, but the IHOP/skipped had me LOL!
I really dug this one too! They all amused me but this one made me LOL.
