Thanks to everyone who entered the Name That Haunted Tune Contest. I drew the winner today. Congrats to Katie Craig, whose Facebook entry was the lucky one for her.
What was the tune?
I was so impressed by how many knew the answer. I didn’t know that song even had a formal title before I launched this contest. I’m not even sure if I heard it out of context I’d know what it went to.
Or would it have sparked a memory and I’d have known it was the song in the Haunted Mansion ride?
That’s what some of you guessed. Some had no idea. Some came up with great names that easily could’ve fit it too.
But the correct answer was “Grim Grinning Ghosts.”
However, you didn’t have to have the correct answer. You just had to submit an answer –any old answer, whether it was right or wrong– to enter for a chance to win the prize pack.
Watch the Drawing
When I can, I like to make videos of the drawings to prove that, yep. I really do write each and every entry down and drop it in the Boo Bucket.
I posted the video on YouTube, Facebook and IGTV (Instagram). Same video, just three different places. The one below is from YouTube.
It’s been a Haunted Mansion kind of year. Which was something I’d wanted to do as part of my Ten Years in the Clear celebrations. What a hoot putting this contest together using the podcast and social media to gather entries in an attempt to share some of the goodies I’d picked up during my jaunts.
Plus, it gave me a chance to relive all the great memories I’ve created at both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom/Walt Disney World this year. Thank you again to all who entered and added to that fun.
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
WTG Katie!
