I came across some alarming Tweets directed at Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum, especially centered around the Dybbuk box. I’ll explain in a seperate post after Christmas how they even came to my attention and why they alarmed me.
Well, they may alarm you too. I’ve shared some of them below, but I blocked out the Tweeters name. He’s changed it at least once so far since I first discovered him, and he keeps alluding to making his account private.
However, in case this individual is dangerous or unhinged, I don’t want to provoke him. What if someone happens to read this post and harrasses him or something? I don’t know if he’s a danger to himself or others, but I don’t want to take any chances.
I reported him to Twitter and also to the Haunted Museum, because he’s supposedly planning to visit sometime between December 21 and December 27 while he’s in Vegas on vacation. Which doesn’t sound so bad in and of itself, right?
It wouldn’t be, but some of his language raises red flags. At least to me.
Am I overreacting? Dunno. I might be. But as they say, “See something, say something.” So…I’m saying something. I’d want to know about this if I was planning on visiting the museum between the dates he’s specified.
I may be paranoid, but how many times when a mass shooting event happens do they refer back to the perpetrator’s social media and see all kinds of signs? This person doesn’t have a lot of followers so it’s unlikely he’s drawing a lot of attention ahead of “the event.” And the interactions he is having? Well, some of the people seem oblivious while others are egging him on.
Who knows…maybe I’m the one who’s oblivious. This could be a giant nothing.
But in case it’s not…my next step is to contact the Las Vegas police. For my peace of mind if nothing else. I pray nothing bad happens at Zak’s museum –either involving this person in an isolated incident or, God forbid, in a mass casualty one. But if they were able to work with the museum to step up security during that week or something, maybe they’d be in place to prevent a tragedy if it turned out this guy does have sinister motives.
The Tweets
Take a look at these Tweets. They’re all by the same person, even though the profile photo is different in some. (He’s changed his name at least once since I’ve been monitoring him.)
Check-In
So what do you think? Am I overreacting or would these cause you concern too?
I’ll be watching closer to 12/21 to see if his language gets more intense –or if he changes his account to private. Fingers crossed it’s nothing and whatever he has planned involves actual crystals and it’s not a metaphor for ammo or something!
But in case you’re visiting then…beware and keep your eyes open for anything unusual!
Boo-K It!

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
It’s hard to follow what he or she is saying, but it does not sound good. No, I don’t think you’re overreacting!
I think they think they will be able to open the dybbuk box.
Either that or keep it closed or destroy it. Not sure, but one thing’s for certain….they’re hung up about that box and Zak!
I tried to keep the Tweets in order as I found them, but even with that…you’re right. Even reading them in order on his feed they’re hard to follow. Lots of rambling, and, sadly, depression. Sounds like this person is in a dark place and potentially not in their right mind. Just hope they’re not planning anything big and it’s more of a personal thing with actual crystals or whatever –and that “crystals” aren’t a metaphor for anything else or anyone else!
Have they posted any more?
(BTW, I sent you a message via the webform the other day.)
He’s now made his account private. One of my friends shared his last post before he did that. But the LVMPD did tell me who I should contact with my concerns so…doing that next!
However, I’m a little concerned. I don’t see any email from you from the contact us page. Crap! I hope it’s not broken. But if you want to resend to hauntjaunts@gmail.com feel free. But now I have to go see if I can figure out what’s up with the webform! Glad you said something!
Those tweets are not only disturbing, but alarming too. Keep us up to date please.
While reading this my eyes widened with shock! I do not want a mass shooting in the haunted museum some of the security gards does stand outside and usually the lines are long so if he did bring a gun they will probably see it.
I’ve sent the info everywhere I can think of. I hope it caught the attn of people who can put steps in place to hopefully prevent anything if it turns out this person is planning a mass event and not just a personal one with actual crystals or something.
Will do. Don’t have much to tell except the LVMPD did answer my email and sent a link of where to submit my concern to an oversight thing that I guess coordinates multiple agencies. Like a statewide homeland security that brings county, city, etc agencies together. Hoping it turns out to be nothing, but if it’s something they have time to act and thwart him.
