I didn’t make much hoopla about it, but Haunt Jaunts turned 10 in 2019. Which means I’m now 10 Years in the Clear. (And 10 years older. Never imagined I’d be so excited about something like that! lol)
I didn’t know what I was doing when I launched my blog back in 2009 –other than trying to squeeze every last drop out of life that I could, while I could, in case the chemo didn’t work.
But it did. And HJ worked too.
It gave me another reason to fight for life, as well as a means to share my passion for the paranormal, travel, horror, Halloween, weird days, and now even true crime. Oh, and skeletons! Can’t forget them!
But it also gave me something else I never even considered it might –the chance to meet others who shared the same interest.
Some of you have reached out over the last 10 years. You send links, regularly comment on blog posts, and never miss a contest!
Some of you are brand new here.
Whether you’re a new friend or old, thank you. I just wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation, and what better time than the holidays?
Yes, we’re all stressed and harried and there are hundreds of things to get done, but…love abounds.
No matter what you celebrate, that’s the common denominator, right? Love.
That’s one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned this past decade: friends make everything better. In this case, particularly ones who enjoy the spookier things in life!
Thank you for daring to take this journey with me. I still don’t quite know what I’m doing or where I’m going, but that’s half the fun. I do have a couple exciting places in mind I’d like to explore in the year ahead.
Not all physical locales either. Just like with the podcast this year, I’m looking to forge ahead into new territory for HJ –with a webseries and a guide book or two.
We’ll see what happens, but for now…the Skeleton Crew and myself wish you glad tidings, adventure and joy this season and in the New Year ahead.
Love,
Court and the rest of the Haunt Jaunts Skeleton Crew,

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
Happy 10th! Happy Christmas!
I am grateful for you and I am delighted to know this is the tenth year of not only HJ but the all clear, too! Happy Yule!
Merry Holidays to you and your crew. Can’t wait to see what HJ will be up to in 2020.
Debra, thank you SO much for all the support and friendship. Sure hope the holidays have treated you well and that you have a GREAT New Year!
Bast, I’m grateful for you and hope you had a Happy Yule and that you’ll also enjoy a great New Year!
Thank you, Priscilla! I don’t know how you found me but I’m glad you did. It’s been my pleasure getting to know you this year!
