Have you been to Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum? If so, I need your help. If not, you can still help. Pass this along to all your para loving friends and encourage them to pass it along. I’m looking for people who have visited the Haunted Museum and word-of-mouth on this will help.
The Situation
During one of our episodes, my A Haunt Mess podcast co-host Deedee and I got to talking about our trips to the Haunted Museum.
Deedee has actually been three times. Her third time was just weeks before I went for my first time.
I don’t exactly recall how the subject came up. I think it all started in Episode 16: New Decade Goals, Cosmopolitan Hotel Room Tour, Zak Bagans Haunted Museum Review.
Deedee and I were comparing notes about our visits. Sara (our other co-host) and I knew Deedee had had experiences in Zak’s museum. (She had a dream about Bela Lugosi’s mirror before ever seeing it in the museum. Very intriguing!)
But nothing happened to me. (Thankfully. I was a bit worried about the delusional/threatening ramblings from the guy on Twitter who was obsessed with Zak, the Dybbuk box and the museum. Luckily that turned out to be disturbing but harmless Tweets.)
That could’ve been the episode I asked if she’d noticed the creepy baby doll on the Demon House stairs too. I was pretty sure I saw it move because it looked animatronic…but as I watched it more closely, it never moved again.
She didn’t remember seeing such a doll.
Or maybe it was when we talked haunted dolls and other things paranormal with Sam Hundley –who’d also been to the museum. She didn’t recall seeing a doll on the Demon House stairs either.
I’d also asked my husband if he remembered seeing it. Nope.
Is There a Doll?
I’m positive I saw a doll on the Demon House Stairs. Not near the bottom where the dirt from the house is. On the first set of steps coming down from the recreation of the main floor. At the juncture where the stairs turn to continue down into the recreated basement.
How come no one else remembers seeing it though?
So far at least.
Check-In
If you’ve been to the museum and you saw the doll too, please help a sister out and let me know.
Again, if you haven’t been to the museum but know anyone who might have –or might know someone else who has–please pass this on and help solve this mystery.
Me (and my sanity) thank you in advance!
Boo-k It!

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
There is definitely a doll on the stairs. It’s from the lockdown Zak did inside the Demon House.
I’m glad Niki G who commented backed up what you saw so you wouldn’t think you were imagining things!
Niki!!! THANK YOU! You have no idea how happy I am to see your comment!!!
Right?! I’m VERY thankful she took the time to leave a comment. Phew! Sanity intact! For now…
2 months ago there was no doll but this past weekend there was and it moved its head and I was the only one that witnessed it. Kind of freaked me out and the movement was too fast for it to be animatronic. I thought I was losing my mind but I definitely saw it turn its head.
