As I was putting together the post about “Travel Channel Paranormal Programming Highlights February 19-March 1, 2020,” I wanted to confirm how long The Alaska Triangle episodes are: one hour or two? I jaunted over to Travel Channel’s website to see if I could figure it out. That’s when I came across a sneak peek at the Ghost Adventures season premiere, which happens Thursday, February 27, 2020.

The programming highlights post also included info about the Ghost Adventures season premiere, specifically:

Horror in Biggs” – 9 p.m. ET/PT

Zak Bagans and the crew investigate a demonic entity terrorizing a small California town. Many locals believe the malignant spirit is responsible for a series of horrific deaths, and an exorcism may be the only way to save their souls from its dark clutches.

It sounded like a pretty typical GA episode these days. Or is it?

Admittedly, I write about the show when I get a press release from Travel Channel, but I haven’t watched a full episode in a long time.

I don’t even know why the sneak peek caught my eye. All its description says is: “In this sneak peek, the crew investigates demonic activity in California.”

Again, pretty typical. Surprise, surprise, they’re chasing demons. (If they didn’t have such a strong brand, they really should consider changing their name to Demon Adventures. That’s really where their passion lies anymore.)

Out of curiosity –and because it was only four minutes long– I decided to give the sneak peek a watch. And guess what? There actually were some surprises.

High Alert

“I have no idea what we’ll be walking into with all of this. Be on high alert.” Zak Bagans

As I said after visiting his museum, Zak’s a showman, and he knows how to pitch a story.  That’s what happened in the sneak peek.

Whatever this entity was they were going to investigate, it was affecting more than the homeowners Zak and crew were hoping to help. It was also affecting their neighbors.

I’m always curious about the people who go on the show. The paranormal is as much a study into psychology and personalities as it is about trying to understand if there’s more happening than meets the eye in the world around us.

Something about this episode’s couple struck me as different. For one thing, they’re a little more mature than Zak’s average “client.” More salt of the earth, unflappable types. But the activity they’ve experienced has flapped them pretty good.

And, if it’s true, for good reason.

Suicide or Spirit Murder?

Has a ghost, demon or entity ever killed anyone?

I found an interesting article on Higgypop detailing “a few famous reports of ghosts killing people,” but as far as any of them being true? No. They’re just that. Reports.

If anyone could find evidence of a dark entity murdering someone, though, it’d be Zak, right? Perhaps he has in this “Horror in Biggs” episode.

The sneak peek includes a very disturbing alleged eye witness account about a bridge, a dark shadow, a flip and a broken neck.

It takes a lot to give me chills anymore. Between all the paranormal I immerse myself in, the horror movies I watch, and my own imagination, I’m pretty desensitized to most claims these days.

But watching this sneak peek? If this wasn’t a case of suicide and there was something dark involved, it may be time for all of us to rethink the energy we’re putting out there. Especially when it comes to investigating and such. Clearly it’s feeding and empowering entities like never before.
