You know you have a good idea when…
Yesterday I learned there’s another online Paranormal Day Paracon happening next weekend. Although it’s not just on Paranormal Day like the one HJ is putting on with Haunted Magazine and the Haunted Antiques Paranormal Research Centre. It’ll be during that whole weekend, May 1-3.
Phenomenacon
Yesterday Greg Newkirk announced Phenomenacon: The First Online Paracon. (Which it will be since it starts before ours, but it won’t be the only one.)
If Greg’s name sounds familiar you’ve likely seen it before. He and his wife Dana are the paranormal powerhouses behind the Traveling Museum of the Paranormal & Occult, Planet Weird, and the much-talked-about documentary series, Hellier.
He’s often a regular on the conference scene too, so if you attend them with any frequency you’ve likely run across Greg.
Speakers
His paracon lineup of speakers includes Amy Bruni, Karl Pfeiffer and Michelle Belanger just to name a few. (He’s billing 14 speakers total, including himself and Dana.)
It starts at 5 pm each of the three nights and lasts until at least 10 pm too.
Cost
It’s free if you’re already a member of the Traveling Paranormal Museum with at least a $15 Friend of the Museum level or higher.
If you’re not, the cost is $15.
Tickets are handled through the Traveling Museum of the Paranormal & Occult’s Patreon account.
However, there’s a big caveat not to pay for your con ticket until May 1 if you’re planning to only pay to attend the con and drop your membership afterward. Otherwise you’ll be charged $30. (For both April and May.)
Place
Like the Paranormal Day Paracon, Phenomenacon is also utilizing Facebook and it’s Live features.
However, they’ve got a private Facebook group your ticket grants you access to so you can see the live streams.
Not Saved
Also unlike the Paranormal Day Paracon, which plans to save all of the livestreams for later enjoyment, none of Phenomenacons will be saved. If you miss a speaker for whatever reason, too bad so sad. You only get to experience presentations during the con.
Still, two cons in one weekend? How cool is that? It’s a way to get your paranormal fix from the safety of your home with some super content offered from both.
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
