Okay, first things first. Full disclosure: Let’s Roam Scavenger Hunts is one of HJ’s affiliates. That means if you end up deciding to purchase any of their fun adventures after clicking through to their site or app from this post, I may earn a little commission. (Thanks, by the way. Always appreciate that. Ad and affiliate revenue is what pays my hosting fees and helps keep this site afloat!)
However, as I like to stress on the Affiliates page, I only pursue affiliate relationships with businesses I either use myself or would use if the opportunity arose.
Well, hello coronavirus and COVID-19 lockdowns.
Sure, life is “getting back to normal” in some ways, but I’m still grounded, landlocked, and trapped in America. (I’ve got more than one underlying condition so I’m going out of my way to stay away from people and do this social distancing thing. I had enough of hospitals when I had cancer, thank you very much. I also have crap lungs so the last thing I want is any respiratory illness.)
But I’m also still a restless spirit at heart. I want to explore and have adventures. I just want to find new ways to do that closer to home and safely.
That’s why I got excited when I found Let’s Roam Scavenger Hunts.
I love games of any kind. When we’re cruising, the two onboard games we never miss out on are trivia and the photo scavenger hunts. Would this Let’s Roam thing let me do something like that in my city?
Oh yeah. But not just in my city. They offer at-home scavenger hunts, trivia parties and more.
Let’s take a look at what Let’s Roam Scavenger Hunts is all about.
The Activities
Let’s Roam is in cities all over the world. So when it is safe to travel again and if I want to experience wherever I am by way of a scavenger hunt, I can.
However, that’s not all they offer. They also have In-Home fun like Virtual Game Nights, Family Activities, Dates At Home, as well as custom events like Team Building, Birthday Parties and Bachelorette Parties.
But let’s take a look at the Outdoor Activities first, a.k.a. the scavenger hunt tours.
You find your city, either the one you live in or the one you’re visiting. Then you see what kind of scavenger hunts they’ve curated and pick whatever interests you.
Tours vary by city but can include bar crawls, scenic sights, top spots and even ghost tours!
“A ghost tour scavenger hunt? What?”
I know, right?!
See why I was excited about Let’s Roam?
Sadly, Nashville doesn’t have a ghost tour one, but two of my other favorite cities do: Chicago and San Francisco. When I’m able to get back to either I’m for sure going to try their scavenger hunts.
Tour Details
Each tour contains a brief description, but it also includes additional details such as
- Activity Type
- Starting Area
- Travel Method
- Walking Distance
- Time
- Skill Level
- Extra Admissions
Most are walking tours that last about 1.5-2 hours.
Tickets cost $12.99 each and each team member needs one in order to get a role and participate in challenges.
But there’s also a $24.99 monthly subscription that’s good for up to 6 players, includes free date night and holiday upgrades (which enhance how teammate connect), can be used in any of their 400+ cities, and include an Exploration Guide. Pretty good deal for die-hard scavengers.
How Ler’s Roam Scavenger Hunts Work
Using your phone, you pick a tour, play a game along the way, all while connecting and bonding with your friends and family, a.k.a. your teammates.
You can discover hidden secrets in whatever city you’re exploring and complete challenges, including:
- Navigation
- Photo/Video
- Location
You earn points for completing challenges that can land you a spot on the city-wide leaderboard and/or give you bragging rights with your teammates.
If you end up finding something neat along the way and want to linger or enjoy some food and drink, you can always pause your tour and resume it when you’re ready to go again.
In-Home Scavenger Hunts
Let’s Roam Scavenger Hunts also offers at-home scavenger hunts. They work similar to the city ones, except you don’t need to leave your home.
They cost $19.99 for a one-time scavenger hunt or $14.99 a month for a monthly subscription, which allows for three scavenger hunts per month.
How Virtual Game Nights Work
You pick a night and time for everyone to gather, then you decide between one of Let’s Roam virtual game offerings:
- Standard Mix
- Charades
- Trivia
- Player Trivia
- Let’s Draw
- Drinking Games
You can connect up to eight players via Let’s Roam’s video call software. Games last one to one and half hours.
One-night game nights cost $39.99. However, they also offer a monthly subscription for $14.99 a month, which provides four events per month.

Check-In
When’s the last time you did a scavenger hunt? (Have you ever done a scavenger hunt?)
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
