Today we released a teaser video (below) for Summer Spirit 2021 on all of our socials. (YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter.) But what is Summer Spirit 2021 all about?

Well, we’ve never really done a series before, but we’ve sure been thinking about it for a while now. We’ve had a few ideas in mind, and still plan to do those also. However, it worked out that we noticed we had a whole bunch of summer-themed travel guide sort of ideas in the pipeline for blog posts, podcast episodes, and videos.

That’s when it dawned on the Skeleton Crew, “Hey! Let’s experiment with our first series being a mini one about spooky summer stuff!”

Sounded like a good idea, so we put the wheels in motion —er, or would that be we launched the broom into the air?

Either way, that basically gives you the idea, right?

Summer Spirit 2021 Topics

If you follow our blog, pod, and YouTube, you’ve probably noticed there’s a lot of crossover and conversion taking place. We often transform blog posts, both newer ones and from our archives, into podcast episodes. We often also convert podcast episodes into YouTube videos.

We’ll be doing a little of that with this series also.

For instance, we recently wrote about Bruce the Shark, the toothy antagonist from Jaws. That will definitely become a podcast episode for the Summer Spirit 2021 series. Maybe even a video too.

But that won’t be the last time you hear about Bruce or Jaws. Here’s a peek at some of the other episodes you can expect to read, listen to and/or watch this summer on Haunt Jaunts, including another Jaws-oriented one.

  1. Places to watch horror movies where they were made
  2. Spooky games for stormy days (or, even better, nights!)
  3. The real-life event that inspired Jaws the novel (and then the movie)
  4. Summer 2021’s Halloween and Horror Fests
  5. The Weird and Unusual Days of Summer

That’s not a complete list of the Summer Spirit content. In fact, we’re leaving space in the lineup to hear from you. (See the Check-In section for more about that.)

  1. Haunted summer camps, that would fit your Summer Spirit series, too. Surely some of those campfire stories the counselors told us were based on actual events. Okay, maybe not because we were just dumb kids (at least I was), but still.
