Have you ever been on a midnight Sasquatch hunt? What about a UFO meditation? Ever participated in anything like that? Do you like camping? We’re talking full-on roughing it where you have to haul all of your gear in (and out) and there’s no running water or other amenities. If that sounds up your alley, then you might want to check out the Unexplained Maine Campout.
I learned about it when the headline by Troy R. Bennett in the Bangor Daily News caught my eye: “This Maine campout includes a midnight Bigfoot hike and UFO-summoning meditation.”
That merited further digging into. Here’s what I learned about the campout.
Unexplained Maine Campout Date
Sept. 10-12, 2021.
Unexplained Maine Campout Place
It will be at the Acadia East Campground in Gouldsboro, Maine. (Gouldsboro? Seriously? Could there not be a more perfect town for such an event to be held in?)
About Unexplained Maine Campout In a Nutshell
Here’s the event description from their website:
Join us for a 3-day weekend of discussions, exhibits, and paranormal outings in the woods of Downeast Maine and the coastal Schoodic Peninisula. Meet like-minded individuals in a relaxed, tent camping setting. Participate in campfire Q&A’s, take a late night Bigfoot hike, and explore some of Maine’s darkest night skies.
According to Bangor Daily News, Tom Tash owns Acadia East and is also the co-organizer for the Unexplained Maine Campout, along with Toby McAllister.
Tash plans to have shuttle buses that will take people to visit “more traditional tourist attractions like breweries and natural wonders” if they want.
At night the buses will be used to transport campers to the Donnell Pond Preserve for a midnight Bigfoot hike and possibly also one night to the Schoodic Peninsula.
According to McAllister, there’s “zero light pollution” at the Schoodic Peninsula. It also offers wide-open views of the sky, which sounds like a perfect place to watch for UFOs. Perhaps that’s where they’ll also conduct the guided UFO-summoning meditations?
I don’t know, but if you want to enjoy the great outdoors with others who also enjoy Bigfoot and UFO hunting, this sounds like a great event to do all of that at.
However, I’d advise hurrying up and see if you can even still reserve a spot as they’ll be limiting the event to around 30 campers.
Unexplained Maine Campout Price
The only thing I don’t know is how much it will cost. However, it does appear the event will also include meals.

Check-In
So? Have you ever taken a midnight Sasquatch hike or a guided UFO meditation?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
This sounds like fun. I’ve never done a Sasquatch hunt or any kind of unexplained exploration, but I’d totally be up for it if I lived in Maine. If nothing else, I’d go for the s’mores.:-)
s’mores!!!! Wonder if Bigfoot and aliens like ’em too? Hmm, you may have just planted a nugget for a fun story.
