Travel The Dead: Katrina Weidman Launches New Show April 27

Travel the Dead poster

Veteran paranormal investigator Katrina Weidman first rose to fame on A&E’s Paranormal State. She currently co-stars in Travel Channel’s Portals to Hell with fellow investigator Jack Osbourne. However, on Thursday, April 21, Weidman released a trailer for a new show on her YouTube channel: Travel The Dead. It’s set to premiere on YouTube on April 27.

What is Travel the Dead about?

We don’t know a lot about the series, such as which locations will be investigated or how many episodes there are.

All we really know from the trailer (which is included below) is that Katrina Weidman is teaming up with her best friend, Heather Taddy, to do what they know how to do best: investigate haunted locations.

Judging from the trailer, this all “ghouls” investigative show was originally set to premiere somewhere (we don’t know where) on Sep. 8, 2021. Did it not get greenlit for a network or a streamer? Or was it always intended to launch on YouTube?

I’m not sure, but surprisingly, YouTube is filled with paranormal investigation shows, including Amy’s Crypt. The addition of Travel The Dead starting on Apr. 27, 2022, makes YouTube a must-go-to destination for your paranormal TV fix.

Katrina Weidman and Heather Taddy

Weidman is no stranger to paranormal TV.  She got her start as part of the crew of Paranormal State from 2007 to 2011.

Then she appeared with another veteran of the paranormal screen, Nick Groff, formerly of Ghost Adventures, on TLC and Destination America’s Paranormal Lockdown where they would stay at a location for 72 hours. That show lasted 48 episodes (2016-2019).

As already mentioned, she’s currently starring with all-around television star and paranormal investigator Jack Osbourne, son of metal star Ozzy Osbourne, in season 3 of Travel Channel’s Portals to Hell.  (But that’s another question we don’t have an answer to: “Is this the last season of POH? Or is Travel the Dead just an extra side hustle?”)

Taddy, another Paranormal State alum, also appeared on the series from 2007 to 2011 and has guest-starred on Portals to Hell.  She also starred in the Travel Channel’s Alien Highway docuseries. Taddy does, and has done, many public paranormal investigations at haunted locations throughout the country.

  1. Great post, Adam! I don’t watch a lot of the paranormal shows on YouTube. At least not many investigation ones. Sometimes I watch the Paranormal Scholar but mostly I watch a lot of travel channels. lol

  2. I’ve been watching Amy’s Crypt and Paranormal Nightmare on YouTube. Both are fun.:-)
