The first issue, “Haunted Holidays,” released in November and is a glossy, 48-page full-color scroll fest of creepy, haunting interviews, articles, and even crafts! Do you know how to make a haunted holiday lantern? Well, with a haunted craft guide curated by Kate Nox, she lays out all the supplies and steps you’ll need to make one! (And let me just tell you that ever since he saw it, Smalls has pestered me to take him to Michael’s and pick up everything we don’t already have at home to give it a go!)

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.

Courtney, do you know if they are looking for short story authors? I have written and published two frightening novels (Stephen King-like), available at all book stores, and I have been putting together a collection of haunting and bizarre short stories for a compilation novel. Do you know if this magazine would like a submission or two of excellent short stories? I can write with the best of them.
