Have you seen the “Scarebnb Prank” that Madelaine Petsch, the star and executive producer of The Strangers: Chapter 1, pulled off? It made me understand why people strive to become influencers. A group of lucky ones experienced the perk of a lifetime.
Well, if you consider it both “lucky” and a “perk” to suddenly find yourself in a horror movie come to life. (And if you do, same. Not sure what that says about us, but welcome to the Warped Weirdos Club, my friend.)
I mean, no one wants to find themselves in a real-life horror movie situation. (I don’t think. If you do, that’s fine. No judgment. But that’s one club I won’t be joining with you.)
However, when it’s a prank situation like the “Scarebnb” scenario? OMG. I’d love to find myself in that kind of a hidden camera scenario!
Mostly because I’d love to know how I’d react. Would I completely lose it? “It” being either my temper or my mind. Would I go into fight mode and start swinging? Or would I have a total terror meltdown with screaming, crying, and pleading for my life? (I’m thinking it might be a combo of both.)
It would’ve been cool enough just to get invited to a private screening of The Strangers reboot in an isolated location. But it got better because Petsch was also there. While they ate and drank (snacks and beverages were also provided), they got to hang with Petsch and take selfies with her and such.
However, little did they know she was about to unleash her devious director side on them—and that not all the influencers were who they seemed. Some were actors planted for the hijinks Petsch had in store.
Said hijinks included cutting the lights and plunging the guests in darkness. Cue the confusion and chaos, followed by the arrival of The Strangers, both inside and outside of the house. Then, in true slasher movie fashion came the pursuit and killing, complete with blood and guts. That’s where the actors posing as guests came in.
Lionsgate released a video that shows both the prank and Petsch and crew’s reactions as it unfolds. (Spoiler: There’s a lot of laughing involved.)
Listen closely to the comments. My two favorites were “Is anybody else here gay? Because I’m not dying first,” and “No, no, no, and no!” What about yours?

How do you think you’d react if you found yourself in a Scarebnb prank situation?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
