“…the enduring Jurassic series evolves in an ingenious new direction with Jurassic World Rebirth.”

How does that statement make you feel?

“Seriously?” is a legit reaction. Either as in excited (“Yay! Good news!”) or exasperated (“Really? Why?!”).

I was a mix of both. My very first reaction was to groan when I read about it. I thought the trilogy was it. Nada. No more. The series had played out.

Ha! How naive of me. Especially with this stat being shared by the movie’s PR peeps: “…the Jurassic World trilogy concluded with each film surpassing $1 billion at the global box office.”

Um, that’s a lot of money. Clearly, there’s an appetite (pun intended) for the dinos. If they’re still profitable, why walk away from that?

Still, you don’t want to insult your audience. Will this newest installation really take the story in an “ingenious new direction” fans will approve of?

We’ll find out when the movie hits theaters on July 2.

I will say this hook definitely captured my interest: “…this action-packed new chapter sees an extraction team race to the most dangerous place on Earth, an island research facility for the original Jurassic Park, inhabited by the worst of the worst that were left behind.”

After reading the rest of the synopsis, seeing who’s in it, and watching the trailer, I’m now more in the excited “seriously?” camp than the exasperated. What about you?

Jurassic World Rebirth Synopsis, Cast, Trailer

Synopsis

Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air within that tropical biosphere hold, in their DNA, the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.

I’m thinking it’ll be some new hybrid dino we’ve never seen before. But maybe they already did that in one of the others…it seems familiar. So, scratch that. I have no idea. I’m back to wondering along with you, Priscilla. lol
