For Jaunters who signed up for (and read) our newsletter, they received their first one this past Monday. What was in it? Lots of neat information.
If you didn’t sign up for it, no worries. I’ll share the biggest news here, too. You’re just not first in the know…but at least you’ll be in the know now!
THE BIGGEST NEWS: HJ IS LOSING ITS RADIO VIRGINITY
HJ’s 1st Radio Appearance – Soul Chat with Sandiee – November 24, 2011 (Thanksgiving) 10 p.m. EST
Thanks to my friends at the New York Shadow Chasers, Psychic Sandiee invited me to be one of her guests on the paranormal panel she’s put together for her Thanksgiving Special show tonight. Phil and Kate from the NYSC will also be on the panel, as will Craig Rupp (Ghost Investigator and Radio Host for the Paranormal View on Para-X Radio), and Terri Garofalo (of Entities-R-Us fame).
If you’re in a turkey coma and want to take a break from football, tune in. I was excited to be asked on the show. That’s quite the panel Sandiee has put together. I feel super honored to be included in it.
Also, I’m losing my virginity, so to speak, as this will be my first time doing a radio show!
To listen, head to Para-X Radio at 10 p.m./9 p.m. Central tonight. But if you can’t make it, no worries. Sandiee archives her shows so you can listen in any time.
NEW EVENTS PAGE
We’ve got a lot of neat things coming up. We needed a place to let people know where we’ll be and how they can join us on some of our jaunts.
Sometimes, like with tonight’s Thanksgiving radio appearance, that’ll mean jaunting with us by way of other forms of media. However, we also plan to expand in 2012 and start offering paranormal events. For instance, we’re busy working out the details for the tentatively named Haunt Jaunts Bermuda Triangle Halloween Party Cruise.
So, if you’ve been looking for a way to jaunt us with, the Events page now gives us a way to let you know how to join us.
FEATURED FINDS PAGE UPDATED FOR THE HOLIDAYS
HJ participates in affiliate programs. Your purchases from our affiliates not only literally supports the work we do, but we also donate a portion of all revenue earned to the Lymphoma Research Foundation, a cause very near and dear to our hearts. (To learn why, if you’re not familiar, see the About page.)
However, we’re not just affiliate marketers. We’ve partnered with the companies that we have because they’re ones we shop with ourselves. Our Featured Finds page is where we list items we’ve either bought or have on our own wish lists.
We’ve updated it for the holiday gift giving season. Take a gander. You might find some unique gifts for the hard-to-buy for paranormal lover on your list. Or you might find something you’d like to receive as a gift. Some of our fave gift ideas are:
- Tours through Viator. This is one of our newest affiliate. They offer all sorts of different tours, including ghost tours. But they have some neat ones like Foodie and Photography Walking Tours. Also, they offer them from all over the world, not just the U.S. In fact, we’re headed to Istanbul and plan on buying a Gallipoli Day Trip fro Istanbul through them.
- Unique Vintage. This is another of our newest affiliates. You might find some neat gift ideas in their jewelry or home sections, but I like them for their clothes. (Including their holiday wear.)
- Amazon and iTunes. Their gift cards always make great, inexpensive last minute gifts.
Again, any buying you do from our affiliates through us is greatly appreciated. Bonus: shop with our affiliates and you can skip the crowds this Black Friday –or all holiday shopping season long. (That’s my idea of shopping…on my butt in the comfort of my own home!)
MOST IMPORTANTLY…
For those of you reading this based in the U.S., we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving! We sure are thankful you follow us and take the time to read us like you do.
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
