The TV series Eli Roth Presents: A Ghost Ruined My Life first launched exclusively on discovery+ on Oct. 8, 2021, as part of Ghostober festivities. Then it premiered on Travel Channel on Jan. 21, 2022. Beginning Friday, March 11, fans of the show can listen to a new podcast, A Ghost Ruined My Life with Eli Roth.
But what will the podcast be all about? Will it just be the audio extracted from the show?
Not exactly. Although, I’m also not sure. I’m writing this after learning that the podcast is happening. I haven’t heard an episode yet.
However, it looks like it will feature the audio from interviews seen in the series. Let’s first check out the podcast’s description, its trailer, then look at three ways it’s the same as the series and the two ways it differs.
A Ghost Ruined My Life Podcast Description
Hosted and hand-picked by Roth, and as told by the victims themselves, listeners will hear the terrifying first-person stories of hauntings. These are the shocking true stories that have left emotional (and sometimes physical) scars on those unlucky enough to have experienced them.
From confrontations with ghosts to demons, dark entities, and poltergeists, every 30-minute episode of A Ghost Ruined My Life with Eli Roth plays out as a “mini-horror film,” as Roth immerses listeners in the real-life worlds of people dragged through hell and back.
The first episode of the eight-part podcast series will premiere on March 11, with new episodes dropping weekly after that on Fridays.

3 A Ghost Ruined My Life Podcast vs. TV Series Similarities
1. Same Day
The first two episodes of A Ghost Ruined My Life launched on discovery+ on a Friday. The other six premiered on Fridays after that. Fridays were also the days new episodes aired on Travel Channel. The same will hold true for the podcast as well.
2. The Amount of Episodes
Just like the series, the podcast will also have eight episodes.
3. The Stories
I haven’t seen a mention of episode titles, but from the trailer, it’s clear the same stories told in the series will also be featured in the podcast.
2 A Ghost Ruined My Life Podcast vs. TV Series Differences
1. Episode Length
Each episode of the series was an hour-long. The podcast will be 30 minutes long.
2. More Eli Roth (?)
I’m not 100% sure about this difference because I haven’t heard a podcast episode yet. In the TV series, we did hear him in the intro and at the end, but from the trailer for the podcast, it looks like Roth may offer more commentary than he did in the series?
Not sure. Guess we’ll find out when the podcast drops.

Which shows have you watched that you also listen to their companion podcasts?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
I’m usually not a podcast listener, though there are some fine exceptions.:-) Podcasts would be good for road trips!
I’m not sure if you were referring to the Haunt Jaunts podcast but if you were…THANK YOU for making an exception! lol (But if you weren’t, wow. Am I self-centered or what? lol)
But YES! I used to love road trips but I don’t have the attention span now and I’m always afraid of aggravating my tailbone, which I injured a few years back and yowser. That took forever to heal and made sitting awful. Well, really it was the getting up that was the real problem but still…
However, thanks to covid we have had to take some road trips the last couple of years to satisfy our wanderlust and podcasts really helped! We took turns picking because our interests are so different and it was fun to experience something I normally wouldn’t have.
