Okay, I promised I’d record the drawing for the winner of the Halloween Dinner & a Decoration Giveaway and that’s exactly what I did. And, as embarrassing as it turned out, I’m even still posting it!
I didn’t pick a back up winner though. Since there were only 3 people who entered, it was easy for me to verify ahead of time who did what to earn bonus entries.
And let the record reflect that I fought the temptation to re-tape the whole thing. Not because I was disappointed with the winner, but because I saw parts I could improve. (I couldn’t remember what I’d renamed the giveaway for next week. I looked down a lot. I was out of breath from being too anxious…oh brother!)
But you know what? That’s the real me. Chemo sprouts and all. (That’s what I’m calling the curly Qs that are growing back as my hair.)
And, yes, that is my “big girl voice.” Try as I might to sound like an adult, even at 39 I still sound like a kid! (It’s no wonder telemarketers ask if my parents are around when they call. Which is great, because I can say, “No,” and not be lying and get out of talking to them without feeling guilty!)
At any rate, I hope if nothing else it gives you a chuckle.
Congrats again to the winner.
What? You thought I’d share it here? Well, I am! But I didn’t dress up and make a fool out of myself for nothing. You’ve got to watch the video to find out whose name I drew out of the hat!
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
Okay, Courtney – you are the cutest contest spokesmodel imaginable! Loved the hat you drew from too. Keep up the great work!
That was not the kind of comment I was expecting to receive so THANK YOU SO MUCH, Susan!!!!! (Laughing, scoffing, finger pointing and heckling…yes. Such a nice compliment? NO! You just made my whole day! =)
Hey Courtney;
I finally got done with an enormous day of very heavy duty gardening (putting down gravel and stepping stones) I can barely lift my arms. I’m kicked back watching GH and I saw your film and was so fascinated, I couldn’t stop watching you. You’re positively adorable. I so wish we lived near each other. I’m certain we’d be best buddies. The outfit is adorable! Yes, you should go as a steampunk vision. In fact, I decided after reading your later post that I’m going to steam punk out my ghost hunting costume with the use of gadgetry and accessories. I’m so excited I won! I feel very like I’m super lucky. I’ll send you my address. You can get me at psychic62@hotmail.com
