Are you a Bigfoot fan? April is one of the months you’ll find a bunch of Bigfoot cons — five in fact. And April 13 is the most popular day for them.
In fact, April 13 is the most popular day no matter what kind of spooky event, be it Ghost Tours and Ghost Hunting Events or Paracons and Horror Fests (which this post will focus on). There’s even some Halloween-ish Spring and Easter events happening the weekend of April 13. (Don’t believe me? Just check the April listings on the Halloween Cons & Halloween Haunted House Events page and see for yourself.)
But for the purposes of this post, let’s first highlight the Bigfoot cons happening in April, followed by the rest of the paracons and horror fests, which I’ve listed first by state, then by date.

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
