You know the paranormal is popular when a fast food giant gets into the act. In this case, it’s Burger King®. In addition to rolling out a new sandwich, the Home of the GHOSTS Whopper, today Burger King Canada released a press release about something spooky users can find in the app. Specifically, Royal Perks members have access to an electromagnetic field ghost detector in the BK App from October 11 – November 6.
At least, that’s what Burger King Canada eaters and app users will find. But what about in the U.S.?
Burger King in the States usually rolls out a seasonal burger around Halloween, too. According to a press release on Business Wire, it’s no different this year and also boasts a ghost theme. However, it differs slightly from its Canadian cousin. But what about the ghost detector? Will U.S. BK App users get to use it too?
It appears they will! Let’s break it all down.
Burger King Canada Halloween 2022 Ghost Detector and GHOSTS Whopper
Burger King Canada’s latest Whopper innovation started being served at restaurants nationwide on Oct. 3. The Whopper sandwich with a Halloween-themed twist conjures up a ¼ lb. flame-grilled beef patty, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and pickles all topped with two layers of black garlic sauce. But it’s only available for a limited time while supplies last.
Burger King U.S. Ghost Pepper Whopper
This year’s Burger King Halloween Whopper materialized on Oct. 10. The Ghost Pepper Whopper, as its called, combines a flame-grilled beef patty, spicy queso, crispy jalapeños, bacon, and ghost pepper cheese, all on a toasted orange and black sesame seed bun. And just like in Canada, it’s also only available for a limited time while supplies last.
The Burger King Ghost Detector
As far as the electromagnetic field ghost detector goes, BK App users will find it in the Home of the Ghosts feature. In addition to potentially identifying restless spirits amongst them, users will also be treated to a spooky surprise: an exclusive offer for two featuring the new limited-time Home of the GHOSTS Whopper or the Ghost Pepper Whopper, depending which country you’re devouring burgers in.

Are you a fan of Burger King Whoppers?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
