Gunslinger Gulch is an old west mining ghost town and guest ranch on the outskirts of Anaconda, Montana. It’s comprised of 19 historic abandoned buildings salvaged from across the state that is now home to who knows how many ghosts.

Because, oh yeah. Gunslinger Gulch owner Karen Broussard discovered firsthand the property she bought was haunted. It didn’t take long for her dream of living in Big Sky Country to turn into a sort of wild, wild west Paranormal Activity-style horror movie nightmare.

Was there anything she could do about it? Could anyone help?

That’s what the new Travel Channel and discovery+ series The Ghost Town Terror is about. The investigators stay on-site during their paranormal investigation of the ghost town. In fact, the jail becomes their base camp. It’s one of several buildings that have been converted into guest lodgings.

So, that answers that. Yes. You really can stay at Gunslinger Gulch. If you dare…

Let’s take a closer look at which buildings you can book, how much they cost, what sort of amenities are included, etc.

Gunslinger Gulch Accommodations

There are four units to choose from, including:

  1. Jail House: 2 double beds, 1 single bunk, 2 full baths
  2. Cordwood: 2 queen beds, 1 single, 1 full bath
  3. Log Cabin: 2 queen beds, 1 single, 1 full bath
  4. Boarding House: 2 queen beds, 2 full baths

Additionally, they have paddocks available for those wanting to horse camp.

Gunslinger Gulch Prices

All rooms cost $229/night based on double occupancy plus tax. Additionally, there’s a $25 per person per night guest fee up to the room’s maximum occupancy limit.

Gunslinger Gulch Amenities

A breakfast buffet is included in all unit rentals or can be purchased as an add-on for campers.

Complimentary Wifi is available and it’s a pet and family-friendly place.

There are restaurants nearby but if you want to cook, they also have charcoal and propane grills you can use.

Gunslinger Gulch Haunted Hot Spots

During my interview with Tim Wood and Sapphire Sandalo, Tim said the Jail House felt “homey” compared to the other rooms at Gunslinger Gulch. And during their walkthrough with Karen, she indicated that it was one of only two buildings where they really hadn’t experienced any activity.

The four she identified as the most haunted were the Saloon, Brothel Building, Log Cabin, and the Church, where Karen and her three children live. Comparing that to the list of accommodations above, you can see there’s only one you can book an overnight stay in: the Log Cabin.

Karen’s daughter had a terrifying experience in the Log Cabin. Karen said she doesn’t go in there unless she absolutely has to. Otherwise, she avoids it at all costs. Sapphire found herself brought to tears there and felt so overwhelmed she had to take a break from the investigation.

But guys? Doesn’t seem to have any effect on them.

So caveat emptor to the ladies out there who decide to book a stay in the Log Cabin.

  1. I would stay in the log cabin. Log cabins are remarkable structures, and rather romantic if it’s just two people.:-)

Oooo! You are a brave soul to pick the Log Cabin at Gunslinger Gulch, Priscilla. (If you ever see the Ghost Town Terror, you’ll see why I say that. lol Because it would be one of my choices too. But maybe not now knowing what I know…)

  3. Although I’d love to stay in the log cabin, see8ng how it affects women, I KNOW it would.probably really affect me…I would welcome staying in any of the lodging accommodations! My husband is a hugge skeptic lols, and i think it would be amazing to judt go and experience the beautful setting, if anything happens, so be it, if not, thats perfectly fine too! Howevrt being pretty empathic, (as i recently was told) im sure i would have some sensings or such… That being said, I’d love to spend a weekend here, exploring via horseback, if allowed….

If you ever do get to go, Jen, and you do stay in the log cabin and anything ever happens, let me know! Or if your hub has anything happen either. Mine is also a skeptic and when we finally did have something happened he didn’t know what to do…he’s still trying to explain it away! lol Oh and I’m not 100% sure but I’m thinking you can probably ride around the property because they do allow horse camping so… I would assume if that’s a way you’d love to enjoy what looks like a beautiful place, you could! But if I ever talk to the owner or anyone else who’s ever gone I’ll ask!

  5. I don’t think I would ever be able to stay in such a spooky place, but I very much respect those that are brave enough to go for it ??

LOL Well maybe it will turn out that Tim, Sapphire, Sarah, and Scott will find a way to get the spooky out so it can just be a beautiful, rustic place to vacation?
