We’re almost done with our renovations around here. Almost. One more big addition is in the works, but let’s recap all we’ve done so far:
- Part 1 started with adding our Writers Wanted section.
- Part 2 saw changes to the Haunted Places, Ghost Tours and Paracons sections.
- We didn’t label it an official change, but adding our Weird Holidays & Observances section was technically Part 3 of our renovation process.
- Now we’re on Phase Four of our changes, which takes us back to a portion of Part 2’s changes. We decided to create a new section, Event Listings. Our Event Listings section now includes the Paracons & Horror Fests page plus a brand new Ghost Hunting Events page!
How Does Paracons & Horror Fests Differ from Ghost Hunting Events?
We decided to create the new Ghost Hunting Events page, because we were listing them on the Paracons page. As we’ve been updating the Paracons page (trying to stay on top of it, amazingly enough), we noticed how many paranormal investigations we were seeing.
There were a lot. In fact, there were so many come September and October it looked a little too cluttered.
So…we decided maybe it would make matters easier if we broke out all the ghost hunting and paranormal investigations on to their own page.
We tried it, liked the way it looked, and decided that would make it easier for people to find exactly what they were interested in.
So now you can find one-night, overnight, and weekend ghost hunting events as well as ghost hunting cruises on the Ghost Hunting Events page and all the cons we can find will continue to be listed on the Paracons & Horror Fests page.
Two Ways to Find Events
When we discussed the changes we were making to the Paracons & Horror Fests page in Part 2, we said we had added a Find Location By Month feature that had been lacking before.
We also said we were hoping to add a Find an Event by State lookup too. Well, we actually did it.
On both the Paracons & Horror Fests page and the Ghost Hunting Events page you can find listings by month or by state.

If you’ve found an event from our listings or have one you’d like to see listed, reach out and let us know. That’s what the comments section below is for!
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
