Fan of horror TV anthologies? Have you heard that for those of us who love them, we’ll be getting treated to another one this year?
And it may well be a treat, because it seems it’ll be released in October –just in time for Halloween! (Time will tell how good it is, though. It will either be a treat or, if it’s a stinker, a trick.)
The anthology series doesn’t have a name yet, but Blumhouse Television will be involved.
The Blumhouse name always stirs excitement because their biggest film, Paranormal Activity, “Blummed” into the popular Paranormal Activity Franchise.
Other Popular Blumhouse Productions
And the film that won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay this year…
The Blumhouse Television branch hasn’t created the same level of stunning hits as the movie side of the equation, but you might remember a short-lived ABC Tv series called The River? What about the horror game show Hellevator?
Both Blumhouse Television.
Coming in 2018 from Blumhouse
But maybe Blumhouse is on a lucky streak now? Maybe 2018 will be their year to release a hit TV series?
I got excited when I read this from Joe.co.uk:
“With a new film coming out soon, Truth or Dare, audiences are in for a terrifying treat at the cinema but you won’t have to leave your house to have the crap scared out of you.
Variety are reporting that Hulu and Blumhouse Television are joining forces to create an untitled horror anthology series with a unique approach.
“The new series, part of the Hulu Originals slate, will deliver viewers 12 self-contained stories — a new episode premiering each month over one year.” While no further details have been announced, we reckon that the show’s creators will be looking to replicate the gore and mystery that the likes of American Horror Story, Black Mirror, and the upcoming Castle Rock have managed to do.”
Blumhouse Bonuses
But this unnamed horror anthology series isn’t the only thing coming from Blumhouse Television this year –or from Blumhouse.
As alluded to in the Joe article above, Blumhouse is also releasing Truth or Dare. On April 13, 2018 in fact, so we don’t have much longer to wait for this one.
Two other notable movies of the few Blumhouse is releasing this year include The First Purge (July 4, 2018) and Halloween (October 19, 2018).
As far as TV, they’re resurrecting one of my most favorite hidden camera shows, Scare Tactics.
They’re also turning one of their popular movie franchises into a series, The Purge. (Yep. Named the same as the movie.)
And they’re also turning a cult classic that spawned it’s own franchise into a series: Tremors. (Which of course wouldn’t be complete without Kevin Bacon involved. Rumor has it he’s reprising his role from the first movie. That sounds fun!)
Are You a Blumhouse Fan?
Have you seen any of the Blumhouse movies? Which have you enjoyed?
Are you looking forward to any of their new releases for this year? (Either the movie or the TV shows or both.)

Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
